Thanks Dudeman.
From what I could find out the perfect offset for the front of the MR2 in the enkei rp01 was 17x7.5 +32

the rims I have on the car are:
17x8 +38 (this may have been +35 I forget) front with 215/40r17 rubber
17x10 +42 rear with 275/40r17 rubber

and these sit extremely flush :)

Look great - and the car looks awfully familiar! Still a massive fan of these wheels, look best when they are moving.

Its funny, such wide tyres look so normal on the car, then you have them sitting in the shed and they look huge!

Thanks again for sending out the white tail light panel too!

It actually handles really well :) grips like a mofo, but I wouldn't want to be around when it let go...

Thanks to everyone who helped with suggestions :)

Nice work, I'll get mine in one day...been waiting MONTHS for fittings though :(
One of the very few 3sgtes I've seen with the stock airbox lol

Where did ya get the hoses from?

thanks :)  The hose was $12.50 from Repco - comes in a 1.8M length :)

Yah - my car is fairly stockish. I kept overboosting with the old (3") exhaust, and triggering cut, which even unplugging the sensor didn't stop :(

if I found a good CAI / pod setup I'd move to that - but for most of my driving it's not worth it.

Ah i forgot about repco lol. Went to supercrap auto but they have SFA in terms of hoses.
Mine 'overboosts' all the time now with my Phoenix Power departure II Pro, but I haven't unplugged the sensor though. Don't know about unplugging the sensor but you also have to cut the vac line and plug all ends too so air cant get in or out.

A less restrictive intake doesn't make a huge difference on turbos as the compressor can compensate, but an N/A can't. Just whack a K&N panel filter in there, I've found they are less restrictive than the paper element.

yah, I plugged the hose too... :( still happened. The exhaust was too loud anyways - there must be something else putting it into protection. REALLY strange.

Either way tho my engine leaks oil, so it's probably best not to up the boost too much :p and I get a bit oil coming out the pcv (hence the catch can), combined with living in the defect state, I'm quite happy with how the car runs now :)

weird...probably the AFM 'sending out an SOS' haha

Mine leaks oil too, but oil leaks are common on 3SGTEs so I wouldn't worry about it unless its pouring out. I redid my sump gasket and dipstick O ring and it seems to be under control now. Might have to top up a cupful every few months which is nothing. Seems to have gotten worse running full synthetic oil through it, but at least my engine and turbo are better protected.  :P

defect state............so you must be from SA??

nah Vic.

the leak is about a cupfull a month. but my car eats oil last time my service was due, the oil was really low.

I know I need to clean out my intake / inter cooler next tho.

next time the engine's out I'll do seals (I'm pretty confident that it's the main seal that's stuffed on mine.

not if it's done properly.

Synthetic oil on an old engine is going to give you more leaks
Distributor o ring. Cam seals, cam cover seal, rear main seal, sump gasket/seal these are all usual culprits.
