Well Sussed it out. It was in fact the relay that blew. After Xmas I will go grab a new one :) one less thing wrong with the car :)

Next up the horn has stopped working :p

I also need to take it to a garage and get the oil leak fixed..

ok planning a few things to get done to the car to keep her running nice.

Brakes are really shuddering and pads are low (I have to check if there is any issues with loose bolts or if the rotors are warped).
I'm thinking of going back to stock mr2 brakes.  I don't track my car, and while having big brakes is sexy as heck, the willwoods need an overhaul I think.  The stock calipers will get a nice little clean and paint bright red.  I'd go and look at the skyline brake upgrade but honestly I'm a bit over upgrading the car when it gets basically driven on errands and  to the station and backso will be looking at keeping it on the road vs upgrading it. So I'll be listing the willwoods here soon...

Next up - my front left swaybar bushing is basically toasted.  So will upgrade to a whiteline swaybar front and DeltaV reinforcement plates.

I'm still tossing up putting the Microtech into the car (but time is more my issue atm).  I did have a thread looking for EOIs on it, but that got zero interest...

I've still got my oil leak, but waiting for something major to happen so engine comes out....

I want to mount my amp the boot with a false bottom for a better look (and to avoild anything metal touching the contacts...

I still want to spray the side strip on the car white, and clean up where I accidentally cut back the clearcoat too far... (if that's possible)

And finally I'm also over having no AC in the car.  Mgiht get that sorted.

OK decisions need to be made.  Installed the whiteline sway bar in the car, and had a look at the brake situation. Pads are very low, and the LHS caliper is DEFINITELY leaking through the piston region which means at a minimum rebuild + new seal and possible piston time.

The rotors also need machining/replacing so I think I'll let them go very cheap if anyone is interested please shoot me a PM.

Ordering stock bits and will be painting the callipers before they go back on. Me thinks, but yeah back to stock. I need the simplicity of standard brakes.  The willwoods visually and performance wise are amazing, but yeah, also looking to reduce cost of running.

Fairly sure the calipers were always leaking... I should have checked them out properly when I installed them.

The rotors warped on a snow trip... it was really a case of these are great, next thing vibrations under braking like the dickens.

in terms of k's - I haven't done a lot on the car - may 20k max (included a track day).

but in all honestly the car hardly gets driven these days... these brakes are a bit of a waste.  I could prob spend time troubleshooitng it... but yeah...

If you want to go back to standard brakes and have the pads last longer, plain RDA rotors are only about $75 a pair these days, and I found they also work great with stock pads too.

You don't have to spend much to have good brakes.

Maybe also think of putting a kit thru your stock calipers, and check the slides etc -  Not that hard to do.

Ok on the weekend did a bunch of work.  Upgraded all the IC clamps to ones from VPW. Forgot to tighten one and went for a drive.. oops :P also my stupid overalls button popped open and scratched the paint on the plastic bit near the engine bay. Time to get those protector mats that mechanics use. :(

Swapped the brakes back to stock, that was a crapp job. Glad I'm going to stick with these calipers now.  I still can't get over how light the wilwood calipers are.

Ok so it turns out I didn't even need new rotors... lol my old ones were near new, and no vibration, I have RDA pads, which is good. I need to re-bleed the brake system but will do that on the weekend.

Rear camera is now installed. I've got mine under the numberplate, however I think I'm going to move it higher, as the picture is stupidly close to the ground.  It's already helped me park once, so that was good.  Running trigger cables through the side of the car was a bitch as always though.  I also made a false bottom for the boot to hide the wiring on the Amp.

Bought a new BOV from a friend - HKS SSQV (one of the early models), and now just need to work out what parts I need to add the recirculation attachment.  Does anyone know the diameter of the hardpipe returning to the intake?
I also discovered I have circlip pliers.. woot haha.  I'm going to try and install it tonight.. I hope!

I've scheduled a few jobs scheduled for the weekend:
1. Rear tyres are wearing on the inside very quickly- time for a rotate.
2. Want to raise the rear coilovers -they're STILL rubbing on the guards... I'm thinking I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to go do narrower rear wheels ( I have 255s with RP01 rims to suit in the garrage so might just do that when these tyres wear out :P)
3. Make a pod filter bracket - my ziptie solution sucks.
4. bleed brakes properly
5. BOV if not done already.

only got a few other things I want to get done -
1. fix the oil leaks in the engine (waiting for an engine out time) - but might make a cover for the alternator :P
2. AC fixed (not sure what the issue is)
3. Spray paint the side strips white and underbit of the car maybe a new lip
4. fix where I rubbed off the clearcoat
5. Obtain / build a pod filter box.

ok did a few things since the last time I updated.  I moved the camera on top of the numberplate - much better visibility.  I also built a false bottom for the boot to hold the amp - no more worries of contacts getting crossed.

Tried out a few of the different sets of rims I have. 275s are worn to the roadworthy line on the inside.   Decided to use up the tyres on the 235s and sell them as a set.  I'm over having the 275s rub on the guards. (they're rolled) which would mean I'd have to raise the rear further... so need to find some snow chains to suit the 255s for next year.

I ordered the recirc adaptor for the ssqv and fitted it.  which will be nice not to spew crap everywhere.

And finally on Sunday  gave the car a mega wash!.. pix after lunch!
2 bucket wash
clay bar
wax
mag cleaner
exhaust cleaned
tyres shine
windows cleaned, rainx treatment
interior cleaned

it's amazing the difference the claybar makes

/\ claying makes a big difference to neglected paintwork.. next time try a synthetic sealant instead of wax, it last longer, few months insted of one - two weeks. i have some if you need to try.
cheers

can you give me an idea of what you suggest? after I finish off the bottle of wax I'll get some.  When I saw your car I thought it looked amazing.  I want to get some touch up paint and rust converter for a few spots on the car, to improve the overall looks too.
