Ok So picked the car up on friday night. Didn't miss a beat. Basically what happened was when the alternator guy did the rebuild, he missed checking the voltage regulator. This was fixed under warranty. so no more cost - again big thanks to Danny and the Guys at JAK for being so good about it. Drove down to phillip island on saturday for tough mudder, perfect - spotted this in the carpark Driving down 525389_101506...8452455_n

new brakes arrived! Doesn't look like braided lines, but that's ok hatted rotors are sexy! Can't wait to put these on the car. I'm strongly thinking about painting the callipers red though (masking the wilwood logo of course!) similar to this: would probably look a bit better than my current setup: now I just have to decide which paint I'm going to use.will probably go High temp 2pac red like my old brakes on the supra.

after seeing a wilwood Narrow Mount Dynapro caliper (which is the caliper I have here) in red, I don't think it really suits as much as the popular (and my favorite style -Forged Billet Superlites) This is the difference: Dynapro on left, superlites on the right. May change these on the next pad change, will see... while this isn't exactly the same caliper- it's similar... but I don't think I like it in red so much. the superlights look amazing in red.

Good news bad news. Good news is the wilwoods look sex on the car... bad news is i stuffed two of the bleed nipples when trying to bleed them.... now they won't shut off... :( back to stock i go while i get new nips. if only there was a forum sponsor who recently became a distributor for wilwood ;) I may try and get some speed bleeders though... Unfortunately for me- the wilwoods have an uncommon bleed nipple spec: Brand Wilwood Disc Brakes Manufacturer's Part Number 220-0627 Part Type Brake Bleeders Product Line Wilwood Brake Bleeder Screws Summit Racing Part Number WIL-220-0627 Thread Size 1/8-27 in. NPT Quantity Sold as a set of 4.

ok brakes are sorted now :) if only i haven't overtightened those break bleeders it would have been in much earlier. Peddle feel is quite different, as is the sound of the brakes when braking - but wow the performance is quite good :) very happy with the upgrade. Gave the car a bit of a wash too as it was being neglected.

awesome :) yeah I'm just not confident in my car in the wet - I tend to baby it :P need to re-bleed my brakes again to. I can get the peddle to the firewall :( (of course doing that while driving results in a front brake lockup :P)

ok so had a lookies under the car today, trying to suss out this shifter issue. The linkages at the gearbox end seem to be ok, a rubber hose was a little loose and in the shift forks, so i moved it. I doubt that that was what was causing the issue, (i made a thread - it won't shift over the 1st or 2nd properly.) I'm beginning to think that it may be internal to the gearbox. :( I'm going to have to wait for it to happen again, then see if i can see the external reason that this is happening... otherwise it'll be a box out and rebuild repair :( - if that happens i may do an LSD upgrade at the same time, as i'm assuming that fixing the box would be around $1k anyways, and suck a lot of time :( i need to check the seals on the brakes too.

hey mate, just out of interest how do you make the horn work with the later model mr2 steering wheel? the "disc" where the wire's attached to doesnt seem to want to move with the steering wheel and the line just comes off as soon as the steering wheel turns

Hey Chiksluvit. just saw your post. Um it plugged straight in. sounds like something might be broken on your wheel or something. ok general update. Looks like I've got two pressing issues. Gear selection is rapidly getting more and more ****ty. I couldn't engage first OR second this morning driving to the station. Time to upgrade the linkages and see if this fixes the problem. Second issue is my rocker cover is leaking on the alternator (rear side) (common fault). To get access to it, I'll have to remove the intake manifold (something I haven't done before on any car!) but doesn't seem too scary. I'm not sure how many gaskets I'll need to replace on the car though... And also one of my plastic undertrays is loose as was discovered at the HH track day. I should probably get around to fixing that, as there are some trips to the snow in the car's future! :)

Shouldn't have to take the plenum off just the IC pipe and Throttle body etc. At least then you can replace the dodgy phillips head screws with good hex ones.
