so these were the condition of the rims when i got them;

all four rims were like this, could tell these ADVAN SA3Rs were really old, having the clear coat peeling off and corroding along with countless of scratch marks. SO SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE;
black 15inch stockies took place once again for the mean time, but to be honest with no power steering in the SW20, the stock 15s are my favourite to drive on all the time.
loving the ride height too! (but then again it could be adjusted with my coilovers.)

first step was to clean all four of them, the inside of the wheels were just black!! all covered in years of brake dusts and road dirt.
being tri spoke wheels i just had to get the insides cleaned well.
f**king dirty..

it took me 2 hours just to do ONE wheel, with some wheel cleaner and constant scrubbing with a scourer and a small brush for tight spaces..
this was the result;

next step was to paint strip the rims to get the poo-ey laquer clear coat off.
it's my first time using paint stripper and doing this kind of project,
so i thought i'll experiment with one rim first instead of doing them all at once, so in that case if i screw it up it would only be one rim! [88]

after paint stripped i sanded the lip down with wet sand paper.. working my way up from 100grit - 1000grit (from my memory)
then the rims were masked down and was ready for primer.
i masked down the centre cap inner part, the valve stems and the inside of the wheel also.

rust guard primer was then applied then sanded then applied again then sanded until they were evened out (previous kerb/scratch marks)
this was time consuming, but i know i could not rush it if i wanted it to turn out how i want it to be at the end.

next up was the colour selection for the centre [}:)]
and i'll leave you guys to this for the time, i'll finish the write up tomorrow.
