I called Bilstein's office here in Sydney inquiring about my own shocks (damn squeaky) and they stated for the pre 1993 model SW20, shocks are not rebuildable.
I'd recommend getting Koni adjustable inserts, had them on my previous SW20 and they were great.

Cheers for that DVS. Yeah, my options were either to rebuilt or just recondition with new shocks (konis).
I'm assuming with the 92' suspension, shocks can be inserted?

you really cant assume anything as so many of these cars have been changed around. you have to remove the dust boot and look to see if they have a welded top or a gland nut
