They're rather sexy aren't they. I'm glad they've upgraded the drain bung. Mine came with a plastic 'cock' which you have to wreck to get out. I have the upgraded replacement but while it's still sealed in not excited about opening it up.

Awesome news, did you end up getting some turning fog lights? That radiator looks awesome and yep I do hate that leaking o-ring. I might go a similar set up when the car requires it.

On the weekend I completed the final steps of repairing the damage from the wombat, and I drove the car to work yesterday. I'm very happy and relieved to say that everything is now OK :-)
The AC needs to be regassed but that can wait until after winter. When the time comes, hopefully there won't be any leaks where the AC hard lines attach to the replacement condenser.
I want to get the gearbox rebuilt ASAP and swap in the electronic speedo sensor at the same time.
I'm not sure whether I'll fix the intercooler piping before or after that.
I'm also long overdue to get a wheel alignment. My front tyres are worn much more on the inside than the outside, even though I only have about -1.5 degrees of camber. I can only assume that it's due to the excessive toe-out, which I know is there because it takes a lot of concentration and effort to keep the car in a straight line on rough roads.

I'd get it regassed sooner rather than later, pretty sure there are components in there that can dry out and perish if the system isn't sealed and full.

Yep, they need lubrication.

If you mean lubrication for the compressor, then yeah that's a good point and I'll get it regassed sooner than later.

Not any time soon unfortunately. I want to fix my intercooler piping, gearbox and wheel alignment before returning to the track.

The gas lubricates seals, like the rubber O-rings and compressor gaskets to stop them drying out. Also when getting it re-gassed have them put tracer dye in, makes it easy to find any leaks ever using a black light.
