You can also put steel wool in the chambers of the cam cover to reduce the amount of liquid getting through to the catch can

It does go back to the intake if that's what you mean.

Get one made like the one I have. That drain back to the sump. Can take picture of it if you want.

You did mention that to me at MTC, but I chose to add a drain tap instead, as a matter of preference.

I've been loving my MR2 as much as ever lately, so I might go to my first Circuit Club event on Saturday at Wakefield Park.
Adrian is going too.

I did go to Wakefield Park with Circuit Club yesterday. It was a perfect day for it

My intercooler hoses are still blowing off after extended periods of high boost. It happened in every session, so I never really got a good rhythm going before returning to the pits to reconnect the offending silicon joiner. I'll make more adjustments to the piping before I return to the track.

Despite that issue, and the fact that I only did about 5 hot laps over the whole day, I still smashed my previous best time by almost 4 seconds!
My best time is now 1:11.3.
It wasn't even a great lap. I made mistakes on most of the corners, especially lifting off too early in a lot of cases. The intercooler hose blew off again immediately after that lap.
I hope to break the 1:10 barrier very soon!

Nice one Rob. You get better every time though the main thing to aim for is fun. I can't see how you wouldn't get there with your car though I thought I'd mention it anyway

Try for faster gear changes on the straight. This could take as much as 0.5s off your time.
If your box doesn't feel like it wants to change quickly, make sure you have those cable end thingies from Delta-V (both the gear stick end as well as the gearbox end). Gearbox oil may be a factor too. I use OEM gearbox oil grade.

I installed all 3 of the DeltaV shifter bush kits about a month ago.
I used to shift faster, but in doing so I wore out my synchros quite badly. Now that they're already worn out, it's harder to keep doing fast shifts.

Congrats that's a great time considering the few runs you had and problems with hoses blowing off.

Well done Rob. It'll be great to see how you do when you fix your hoses and can get into a rythym....

Here is a list of the many things I know I did wrong in the 1:11.3 lap, so there is plenty of room for improvement...

Turn 1 (kink): I lifted way too early at the end of the straight, even earlier than I have on other occasions. This is the scariest thing to improve on though! My car reaches over 200km/h at that point.
Turn 2: Not too bad, I'm not sure if it's worth trying 2nd instead of 3rd gear.
Turn 3: I lifted too early and coasted for too long. I also over-steered a bit but that's OK.
Turns 4 and 5 (over the hill): Not too bad, but could've gone a little faster.
Turn 6: I used the concrete on the right of the ripple strip as I should, but I could've applied more throttle overall.
Turn 7: I lifted too early again after turn 7 just before the fishhook.
Turn 8 (fishhook): I sort of missed the apex on entry, and I missed the heel-toe shift down to 2nd but it didn't matter on this occasion. I could hold 2nd gear for a bit longer too, but then my car just wants to power-slide.
Turn 9: I missed the apex so I couldn't put the power down early enough.
Turn 10: I lifted too early again and coasted for too long.

Those are lots of little things which will all add up to many more seconds off my lap time once I fix them all.
It's easier said than done though!

All that matters is that it's so f**king fun! :-) :-)
