Yeah, a Zaklee transparent one. It was surprisingly not brittle so I didn't have much trouble cutting through it.

Congrats! The acceleration must be nuts now hahah.

How are you rear tyres going for grip? Have you got semi slicks on it?

There is part of me that wishes I still had my old car so I could set it up for E85 to see what it would do :(

I still have Pirelli P Zero 255 wide tyres on the back, which do a good job of putting 'most' of this power to the ground. Having said that, it easily wheelspins in 3rd even at high speed, and sometimes it wheelspins a bit in 4th too.

Time for an update, quite an exciting one too...

My MR2 went back on the dyno today, and achieved 353.6rwkw (470rwhp) on E85!

I couldn't be happier!

That's all kinds of silly, even some new types.

Whats the power to weight ratio? Can only imagine that's well into proper supercar territory.

OEM brands quote power figures at the engine, which makes it hard to compare.
My car would have almost 600hp if measured at the engine, which gives it a higher power-to-weight ratio than many supercars. Of course a proper supercar would probably have much better performance at low RPM though.

Yeah, last years Picton go-kart was not fair! I'm close to 100kg, you can have a 50kg weight penalty for the rematch to make things even!!

Tonight I went for another drive and continued familiarizing myself with the insane power delivery, on dry roads. On one occasion, instead of gradually applying the throttle, I tried mashing it to the floor in 1st from a slow rolling start just to see what happens in the extreme case. As a result, the tyres were spinning through the entire rev range in 2nd and 3rd gears before I had to back off. Even with a Quaife LSD the car wanted to squirm sideways and fishtail on the straight road. Now I know what not to do hahaha.

Wow Rob!!
You have fulfilled the promise of this car. The modification path is quality and it definitely shows in the results.

You definitely need bigger stickier rubber to hook up that much grunt, or maybe you enjoy all the tyre squealing fun that 350+RWKW can provide.

Great work, enjoy the car and be safe, with this much power the MR2 platform can be a handful....

With great power comes great responsibility?
