I did a few long drives recently to use up about 90% of the fuel in the tank, so I'll be filling the whole tank with E85 this week. I think I'll be getting the E85 power tune next Wednesday, but I have to confirm with MRC.

Tonight I finally put a full tank of E85 into my car, and the flex-fuel functionality continued to impress me. I drove around for about 30 minutes while datalogging so I could make sure everything is behaving (before Wednesday when my car is booked in for an E85 tune at MRC). According to the datalogs, which included full-boost on a few occasions, it looks like MRC won't even have to change any fuel trims, they can just focus on ignition timing and adding a few more psi of boost.

Were you able to log the actual ethanol content the sensor was picking up in the fuel?

*EDIT*: Yeah, it was 77%. I went to the servo just after the fuel light came on, and the remaining fuel was 45% ethanol. I added 47 litres of E85 at United in Yagoona, to fill the tank completely. The SW20 fuel tank is apparently 55 litres, so it works out that the ethanol concentration of the 'E85' out of the pump was actually about 82%. That is typical for United, from what I've heard.

*EDIT* This result was from an old tune! It has been improved more recently, as you will see if you continue reading this thread. MRC ended up being heaps busy with other stuff on the day, so we only had time to do the tune fairly quickly at the end of the day. I was in the passenger seat with the laptop because I know the Adaptronic software inside out. In hindsight I've realised that I should have added more timing at lower RPM (I only added timing from 3500rpm and above, but really I should have done it from about 2000 or 2500rpm and above). I might be returning to MRC soon to get an A/C leak fixed anyway, so I might get one last touch-up tune while I'm there, just to try to get a bit more low-end torque and maybe bring the turbo on slightly earlier. TBH it's already amazing, but I may as well add more timing down there and see how it goes.

I'm aware of only a few other SW20s with similar power levels on E85 in Australia. Dudeman Watch out Rob, you may do your face a permanent injury with that massive grin i'm sure you are wearing. Bet you are grinning in your sleep!

Nice result mate. About 10% increase although I expected the boost increase to gain a bit more. How were the intake temps? Either way, it makes what it makes & I'd simply be happy with that. Would probably go back & fine tune the bottom end as E85 is known as potentially improving response, so you'd want to get the full experience.
