I got my car back from Gearbox Express today with everything fixed, and I'm very happy with the outcome! The box from Gorilla Industries is now in my car, with the Quaife LSD replacing the clutch style LSD that was in there before. I left the synchros alone, and they actually feel totally fine, maybe even better than my original box. This could mean that I had worn out synchros all along in my original box, but got used to it without realising. Or maybe the revised synchro design makes up for it somewhat. Before anyone asks, I haven't put the Quaife LSD to the test yet, but I will soon. In case anyone is wondering, the damage to my original gearbox was exactly what I expected...broken shift fork for 5th gear, and a crack in the end cover for the casing: I'm so happy it's all sorted. Now I just have to wait for my new rims to arrive so I can move on to fitting those!

just_ace crap, you had a post you wanted deleted and i think i somehow deleted everything after it and i don't know how to fix? sorry haha such a fail! Normally I would be annoyed, but I have nearly all the same content in my build thread on the 'other' forum, so I can copy it back across, with the benefit of being able to ignore any posts that aren't very important in hindsight. Thanks for admitting it straight-up though. EDIT: given what I said above, you can give up on trying to undo the deletions. Also, I just had a look and there were hardly any posts that I really need to retrieve, so it's no big deal anyway lol.

I got a few things done on my car today. - I replaced my blown reverse light, which many people kept telling me about. - I did an oil change, for the first time on my own since I got the engine rebuilt about 5000km ago, but I bought the wrong oil filter so I'll have to go back and get the right one tomorrow. It was relatively easy to do the oil change with my remote oil filter setup under the car! The only hard part was fitting myself under the car. Next time I'll try to find something to put under the hydraulic jack to increase the overall height. I have jack stands too of course. - I made a heat shield for my ECU.

Nice idea. I'm considering doing that to try eliminate the interference from my MSD wires to my PFC speed output.

MR2QIK Nice idea. I'm considering doing that to try eliminate the interference from my MSD wires to my PFC speed output. If you want to eliminate electrical interference, have you tried using shielded cabling instead of normal wire? Microphone/audio cable is good, that's what my ECU loom uses for all sensitive signals. Also, simply re-routing the wire further away from the interference source will help.

These puppies should be arriving any day now according to Dylan! I'll be in China for a week from next Friday, so I probably won't get a chance to fit them properly before then, but hopefully I get a chance to at least do a quick test fit to see if spacers are required or whatever.

The most obvious difference with the Meisters and SSR Professors compared to these rims, is the fact that the face of the rim doesn't step inwards around the lug nut holes, if that makes sense. When I noticed that difference, I realised why they look noticeably different despite the similar spoke shape.
