Very nice Rob. have you read through the manual on tuning the bump and rebound?

Yeah briefly, at the moment I just have the default settings. I'll have to go for a decent drive to see how the suspension feels now. It looks like all adjustments (bump, rebound and height) can be made easily without removing anything other than the wheels.

Im sure the default settings will be pretty much what you will need. I think you can reach the setting at the top of the strut and may be able to reach under the car to set the lower setting but could become a problem once some road grime makes its way there. Could be a good idea to cover the lower one with some tape or a plug of some type to eliminate the grime getting in there. You could go and see Ric Shaw or another suspension tuner with MR2 knowledge(there is a very good one in Sutherland Shire) in the new year so he can set the ride height correctly. It will certainly save a lot of grief trying to get it right on your own. So how has the running in coming along? Has the engine loosened up? How is the power delivery?

Has the engine loosened up? How is the power delivery? It's only done about 1,800km since the rebuild, but I guess it would be mostly run-in by now. It still has a conservative tune, and it over-fuels a lot when I floor it, but the high load part of the tune never had much time spent on it so far. With this in mind, I've restrained from booting it too many times, and the boost probably comes on a bit later than it could with a full tune. At the moment it's running about 15-16psi of boost (I think it was 225kw atw), and it comes on boost around 4500rpm give-or-take. It's laggy of course, but it's how I expected it to be. It certainly shoves me back in my seat when it comes on boost, I love it! I can't wait for the full tune

I dropped my car at MRC on Saturday, and I just had a chat to them on the phone. Depending on how busy they are, they might get to tune it in the next few days. It will be good to finally see what it can do with a full tune!

NOTE TO FUTURE READERS: These are the dyno results for my OLD engine mods. I picked up my car from MRC again today. This is with the tune that is currently in the ECU, with a 20psi boost level that I am very happy and comfortable with:

Thanks mate. Just to emphasize...before the tuning began, my thought process was "if 20psi gives me a decent number, I'll leave it at that. If not, I'll go up to 23psi at the most". I'm very happy with the result at 20psi (anything over 260kw was all I wanted), which is why I didn't push MRC to get more out of it. I would rather have more confidence that my engine will last longer, instead of having slightly more power than my target. I might change my mind down the track, but for now I'm very happy with it.
