I just got an update from MRC. My car is being inspected by the engineer tomorrow fingers crossed he doesn't find any issues that haven't been considered already. If it's all good, I should be able to get a blue slip next week and re-register the car!

Let me know how you get along with the brakes being engineered :)

I just got another call from MRC.
The only thing that the engineer knocked back was the width of the rear wheels. Everything else passed!

My rear wheels are 9.5 inches wide, which is apparently 1 inch too wide.
(Note: the 18 inch diameter wasn't a problem).

So, I need to borrow some wheels if anyone can help me out.....?

- Ideally, it would be great if someone can lend me a pair of 18 inch Starcorp Impul wheels that are no wider than 8.5 inches (the engineer has been taking photos of everything as required, so the cops can make comparisons to ensure that the car is still in the same condition that it was engineered in).

- If no one has those wheels, I would probably need a full set of four 18 inch wheels of any other brand. My rear brakes aren't too 'outlandish' so there shouldn't be fitment issues there, but the front wheels would need to fit over my big front brakes.

Can anyone lend some suitable wheels to me?

Problem solved! I now have 4 narrower 18' wheels on the car, so the engineering process should be finalised soon.

The car is now registered again  after 6 annoying months of mucking around getting the engineers certificate etc.
The car has also been detailed.
I'm picking it up from MRC tomorrow just in time for its first monthly meet in about 15 months!

Such a nice looking piece of work. All your effort and persistence paid off in the end. And it was good to see you thank those that did their best to assist you in each part of the process.

Thanks mate!

In other news, I've just ordered a set of KW variant 3 coilovers
The suspension has been the only area of the car that I've neglected until now, so the KWs will be a great way to complete the car as an overall package.
