Yeah let's leave the running-in discussion for that other thread, thanks! BTW...the engine was finally started today! We had it idling a bit too Initially my mech filled up the cooling system, and found a leak which he had to spend a while fixing. He broke a rusted bolt in the process and had to heli coil it and so on, but that seems OK now. When we went to start it for the first time, we spent ages mucking around trying to get the injectors to work, before realising that it was probably because I have high impedance injectors (instead of the factory low impedance ones), but I still had the resistor pack there, so the overall resistance would have been too high for the injectors to open properly. We bridged the resistor pack and made a few adjustments to the settings in the Adaptronic ECU, and it started! In the mean time my mech was sorting out the cooling system, I'm not sure if he finished bleeding the air out or not. This is only a very small step in getting it fully running properly, but it's a good start!

It sounded awesome indeed. I still have to lower the idle speed to something more sensible, which will sound even better with the cams, but I probably won't be able to go much lower than 1000 RPM with the cams I have.

Today I ordered an Innovate LC-1 wideband oxygen sensor controller. I totally removed the resistor block for the injectors, because it's ugly and no longer necessary. Does anyone know if the other thing with a heat-sink (on the same bracket) is the resistor for the fuel pump speed?

Thanks Greg, I might remove that too since I'm always running the fuel pump at full speed.

My car went on the dyno for the first time today. No power tuning of course, just light/medium load stuff and a little bit of heavy load stuff to bed the rings in. The boost control isn't wired up yet, so it was just running max 10psi wastegate spring pressure. Even just mucking around we got over 200hp around 6k rpm, with 10 psi...I can't wait to give it 20+psi!

Nah not yet, but I might do that when I eventually do proper power runs.

Thats great news .Love to compared your figures when we are both tuned. I WANT TO STRESS i am not a power hung up freak , like to see safe engine and linear lower increase, but as a reference so far with my restricted 40 mm intake at 6000 rpm 7 psi i also did 200 HP at the wheels
20 psi will be crazy fast !!!!!!!!!!!

I made some good progress on the remaining wiring in the past week. I was naive to think it was a one-night job, but it's nearly done now. All I have to do is tidy up the temperature sensor wiring, and wire up the Innovate LC-1 wideband oxygen sensor. I was so effing busy at work all week I didn't get to spend any time whatsoever on my mechanic's dyno, which he gave me free-rein over for the whole week while he was away at SEMA in the US. Not happy! Anyway here are a few pics... Adaptronic e1280s ECU wired up, with relays added (top right) for the A2W IC fans and pump: Tapping into one of the existing 12V feeds to supply the new relays:
