Steve and Jay, thanks for the tips, those are the sort of answers I was hoping for.
I have definitely considered the idea of taking my car to the track and drags a few times while my license is suspended, because cars like to be driven at least occasionally! One of my contacts from work has organised a private track day at Wakefield in November, with timed laps, so I may do that (he organised a similar day at Oran Park last year which I really enjoyed).
Mark, I may take you up on that offer because I will still need a way of getting my car to track days lol. I'm sure that many people would jump at the opportunity to 'help me' drive my car places [:P] such as monthly meets or track days, but on the other hand some people may be too scared of crashing my car! For track days I could always just hire a car trailer depending on the situation.

I'm happy to drive it for you, or I have a good contact for car trailers.

I assure you, I'm not at all scared of driving a car like yours (not even scared of mine). I'm more scared it'll fail & catch fire while I'm behind the wheel. I have bad luck sometimes....lol

Fear is directly proportional to pressure of the right foot.

Disagree. Fear is directly proportional to the throttle rotation of your right hand [;^)] Besides, you could give the right foot of Hyundai Excel all the pressure you want, the only way you'll ever get scared is if you're about to hit an expensive car stopped at the lights in front of you

The hose from the compressor can be run in any path we choose, and it hasn't been done yet, so we should be able to take that into consideration.

I confirmed today that there is about a centimeter clearance there so that's fine. quote: Originally posted by MR2QIK

Jay...I don't want my car to catch fire if you sit in it hahaha. When I said that people may turn down the opportunity to drive my car out of fear, I wasn't referring the the power, I was referring to the sh*tload of money I've spent on it! I haven't decided yet if I'll disclose the total amount that I've spent on the engine when it's finished [xx(]

Things get expencive quickly dont they!
Its scary to think the money you spend on these things.. Im nowhere near your level and I cringe going through the car section of the filing cabinet!
Probably best to keep the number to yourself! As long as you get a decent grin when you put the foot down, thats all that matters

I agree with that but its all very satisfying when it comes together and your goals are met, or even exceeded.
