Just leave the exhaust manifold bare, so can see the workmanship. Looks awesome anyway!

It's already been sent away this morning to get a silver ceramic coating. I agree that it's a shame to spoil the way it looks now, but it won't look like that forever and it will start to look a crappy colour down the track. With the silver coating it will always look awesome! At least I got photos of the bare item beforehand

Still lots of things! * The annoying job of removing the fuel tank to fit the new fuel pump * Fit the new heavy duty button clutch * Finish the air intake piping and mount an air filter * Oil catch can and oil cooler (you may have noticed the fitting on the cam cover for a catch can) * Wiring for the added temperature sensors, 3 bar MAP sensor, and relays * Ignition system upgrades (once I decide what to do there) * Probably lots of things I'm forgetting!

I'd probably want it before the next meet (in fact I probably won't be at the next meet anyway). You're on the north shore aren't you? I could meet you somewhere or you could post it to me, I don't mind. I work at Castle Hill and live on the Central Coast.
email me your address and i'll post it on monday

are you getting the manifold coated inside and out? also I think the heat resistance of the silver coating is less than the black. you better check that out

I'm unsure of the name of the place that's doing it, it's just the place that my mechanic uses. I think it might be in Parramatta.

Probably won't do the inside.
because they can't prep the whole inside properly.
Seriously, get black, its rated at 2000F versus about 1500F for 'shiny disco balls' silver and you'll be approaching that sort of temp with it wound up.

Ah the wonders of Photoshop I just spent 10 mins quickly doing these so I could see how they would look (I didn't bother making the edges perfect and everything, it was just quick): Now: Silver coating: Black coating: I really like all of them, so I can't lose!

That looks awesome mate! If it was up to me I would be leaving them as is - but you are right you can't really go wrong :).
Edit: Just realised you are actually doing it for thermal reasons not just to look pretty... A definite win for the black in my book!
