If he said 92 he means gen2 - im fairly sure the gen3 doesn't just bolt up.

If you want an intake manifold look for the JUN replica ones - Best looking intake manifold around easily. (can't comment on functionality but it cant be too bad)
You probably won't need it - you are't going for record attempts or anything. 250kw's is a good healthy number that seems to suit the car and motor well. That said,if you are looking at TB's decide what intake you want first - alot of them use the ford 70mm throttle body which would make all this deciding a waste of time.

Probably not worth the effort to DIY anyway if its cheap to get one.

can always try and find a caldina manifold, they work wonders if you can find them for the right price.
the wrong price:

Even with the throttle body thats a rip lol plus the devil of postage and its just insane. You can get a good custom one like the ATS one for cheaper than that

A caldina Manifold requires modyfications to fit to the GEN2 3SGTE.

I doubt it, but yes it would look cool!
I'm maintaining a black and bare metal theme throughout my whole car though, including the engine bay.

The Caldina intake manifold doesn't interest me either. I'll definitely get the ATS one if I don't keep the stock one.

The ATS one looks terrible. Look for the RMR one :)

You would also need to check how much material will be left just upstream of the flange, dont want to leave it too thin.

yes, but it think it would take quite a few hours and i would rather spend $55 than spending 4 hours filing it down

would need extensive modification like the caldina one would, do-able but time consuming

anyway, i thought the ATS was along the same vaine as the JUN one except it doesn't cost $3000

the stock inlet manifold will be adquate for his power goal, especially since he wants low down torque i wouldn't go for a manifold with a considerably larger plenum volume as this will effect the low down torque

I'm starting to think the same thing. I might keep the stock intake manifold/plenum and get it ceramic coated as planned (for aesthetic reasons more than performance), but I would still need to decide what to do with the throttle body and throttle body inlet.

Throttle body is the same size internally between Rev1 and Rev2 MR2s (55mm) Why not just buy the inlet instead of the whole thing?

Thanks Nick.
If the 1992 throttle body is the same size as the 1990 one, I'll just keep what I've got and I'll simply get the ATS inlet pipe and nothing else.

Did someone else say they are going to be ordering one of the ATS TB inlets too? I'm happy to order mine at the same time, but I'll probably need to do it ASAP.

Now that I've confirmed that I'm keeping my stock intake manifold, and getting it ceramic coated, I'm looking for suggestions for what I could put on top of the plenum instead of the stock badge (the one that says '2000 twin cam 16 ceramic power twin entry turbo', which I've removed). I could just leave it blank and remove the adhesive residue, and maybe I will, but I thought there might be some sort of aftermarket badge out there that would be suitable?
