DOuFINKimSEXY: Thanks Dave. I should have taken a picture with the masking tape, newspaper and plastic removed.

MRGen3Turbo: Thanks Nick. I'm hoping to have the BEAMS engine in the car by the end of next month

UPDATE:

I took last Wednesday off to install the slightly modified BEAMS body loom and to work on a few little things before we pushed the car back to IDB for the conversion.

Pictures below:

I didn't take pictures this weekend but things are moving along nicely.

coming along well Darren. I hear Ian is away for a couple of weeks though. I guess you have plenty to do while he is away.

kameleon: haha yeah man and the Legalis R is also fitted [^].

stuka: Thanks Pat. Yes Ian is going away for a couple of weeks but he hopes to have the car running before he leaves for his holiday. If all goes well I might be running the car in this time next week

UPDATE:
I called Ian yesterday afternoon and he told me to hold the line - The next thing I heard was a engine crank over and start so I asked him "Is that my car" and he replied "yes" .

I haven't seen the car since last Saturday and Ian left today for his two week holiday so the car has been moved to Anson Auto so I can put the rest of the interior back in the car, attach the heat shields that bolt onto the firewall (if they have already been painted) and fit a b-pipe. I'm expecting to have the car back this weekend so I can start the run in procedure.

I spent today putting the interior back in the car. The conversion is almost complete with only the below outstanding:

- B-pipe needs to be fitted
- Fire wall heat shields still need to be painted and fitted
- Air conditioning pipes (body side) are currently being repaired
- Clutch needs bleeding

The car starts, idles well and runs. It's very loud at the moment due to the lack of b-pipe

Hey Darren, was your BEAMS from an SW20 half-cut or did it come out of a Caldina or Celica?

MRGen3Turbo: Yeah man, I'm glad Ian got the car running before he went on holidays. When he gets back it'll go back to him to fit the air con pipes and have the air con gassed.

mister2: My engine was out of a SW20 as kameleon pointed out. In saying that a BEAMS 3S-GE out of a Celica or Caldina would work, with a few changes.

stuka: Thanks Pat. I finished the interior today and started on my tail lights, I don't know if I'll get the tail lights finished tomorrow, so I'll fit my spare set on the car just in case.

DOuFINKimSEXY: ha ha yeah it sure does. The engine bay was looking very bare without an engine in it.

kameleon: I think a grey top would be a good budget BEAMS conversion.
