MANDALAY: Yeah it does look touched and some wires have been cut. Did you notice that the connecter only has one wire (blue)?

I reckon wires have been depinned from the connector. That blue wire should be fuel pump.
Is that the original engine that came with the car ?
BTW TRD has a filter for the BEAMS air box, Just a thought

I've had the same HKS filter in my car since i got it (~2 years) and it doesn't seem to be disintegrating at all. I'd say you'll be fine :)

Well it looks like I'll be buying something else. nuk1ear: Haha not my engine man  MANDALAY: I'm not entirely sure if the revision II 3S-G that came out of the car was the original one from the factory. If the blue wire is the fuel pump then that's one less wire I need to figure out I'm leaning towards TRD or APEXi instead of running the HKS long term. Servin from the BEAMS forum mentioned the HKS has poor filtration and flow. chunkmo: Thanks man, personally I don't think I want to risk it so if my conversion is completed before I get a replacement intake I'll run the HKS for the time being. Have you tried other brands by any chance, and if so how did the HKS compare to the others?

hah i was thinking of getting that same panel filter as well off ebay listed for $69+17shipping(expensive), then found the k&n for $50US+ free shipping(well says its free shipping)

ahh i didnt see that, i assumed that one paragraph was just a compatibility list and description. Good eye man, the seller really should have seperated that line from the rest just as bad as fine print haha. shipping is US $31.00 USPS Priority Mail International, works out to be just under $90aud(atm) altogther.

Nah sorry haven't tried any other brands - it came with the car... Though, my car has only driven 10,000km since i bought it so that could be a factor...
