surok: Thanks man. I hope the BEAMS makes me happy. It should make a fun runabout car though!

evl_132: Not as epic as your 3S-GTE conversion but I'm looking forward to driving it.

The project will be ongoing but hopefully I will be driving it in the next few months. Then a full respray in the future.

kameleon: That's why you should build/clean up that spare 3S-GTE you have and put it in your living room as a nice conversational piece

stuka: I'd consider the 2.4 for the GT-S & G-Limited when they are due for another rebuild

sandog: ha ha yeah that's him! Any news on your car?

kameleon: That would make one heavy coffee table but very cool!

That would be an awesome table, except for when I help you move again...

Mister_two, why have you chosen to put SXE10 (BEAMS blacktop) pistons in? What was wrong with the original pistons? What will be the effect of increasing compression?

What sort of horsepower are you hoping for?

moberman: I had the SXE10 pistons put in because my engine rebuilder advised he wouldn't re-use my original pistons due to its condition. He offered me a spare set of SXE10 pistons in good condition he had left over from his blacktop rebuild so I decided to have them put in.

I guess the benefit of using SXE10 pistons is the slight increase in compression and hopefully giving it a tiny bit more power. Power-wise I'm hoping it'll make about 200HP/150KW/203PS at the flywheel with an aftermarket intake, Fujitsubo Legalis R muffler and SXE10 pistons.

Just another update:

I spent Saturday morning cleaning and sand blasting the intake manifold as some of the red paint was scratched off. I will have the intake manifold re-painted in Super Red II and ordered another TOYOTA badge for it as the current one was slightly bent.

As you can see below the BEAMS is starting to look more like a complete engine thanks to Ian @ IDB. Since the loom has been cut and missing a few plugs I've decided to order a brand new engine loom from TOYOTA to make things easier.

I also bought Adrian's (evl_132) Fujitsubo Legalis R N/A muffler to replace the stock riced up (with tips) that the previous owner had put on. Thanks Adrian.
