DOuFINKimSEXY: No Dave, still experiencing problems. I'd like to borrow an ECU from someone and see if it helps fix the problem. I have noticed that my volt gauge fluctuates quite a bit. Could this be a grounding issue?

MANDALAY: I've reset the ECU a number of times and no error codes come up. As for the timing I'll get that checked hopefully tomorrow, the fuel pressure SEEMS to be okay. My mechanic thinks it might be worth trying a water temp sensor. Would you happen to have a spare I can borrow by any chance?

kameleon: Trav, I can't seem to find the valve that came from my original engine. I'll have a proper look when I'm at Richmond hopefully tomorrow.

SW20_3sge: Thanks man . The engine bay and front compartment was painted white as this car will be repainted in Super White II in the future.

I got these awhile ago but have been lazy lately.

DELTA V shifter/shifter base bush kit.

After installing these I noticed an big improvement in shift feel.

Could be grounding.... Maybe the fresh paint is not allowing something to ground proper..

I have to admit I have a place in my heart for Super White II can't wait to see it all done.

How do you find the Beams engine compared to the 3sge gen 2? I would love to do the conversion one day.

I'll keep a close eye on this thread :)

DOuFINKimSEXY: Yeah that is a possibility. I managed to find a pretty tired looking wire that bolts onto the positive side of the battery so I fixed that today and moved some ground wires in the engine bay.

MANDALAY: Thanks Angelo, I hope you have a spare water temp sensor I can test on my car. My mechanic believes that is most likely the cause of my problems. But in saying that I would be interested in your charcoal canister/valve and piping. If my ECU is faulty I'll buy your spare one since you've gone MOTEC.

SW20_3sge: I too am a fan of white SW20's. I must admit there's still a list of things I want to do to this car before the car will get a full respray.

It is hard to compare the GEN II 3S-GE and the BEAMS 3S-GE as I don't really want to drive it hard until I get the cold start and misfiring issue which came about 3 weeks ago; Furthermore I want to buy a BEAMS tacho as the current tacho doesn't work on a coil setup so I can't tell exactly what the engine is revving to. In saying that prior to the problems (first 900km) the BEAMS felt smooth, more powerful, and has a far more aggressive noise (prior to the exhaust leak) compared to the GEN II 3S-GE.

Howdy mister_two.Thought you might be interested in this supposed fix for the tacho. I found it trawling the BEAMS forum.

Just bought myself a BEAMS from an ST-202, so I'm hoovering up info everywhere I can find it!

mister2: Thanks man. I was thinking about getting one of these over the MSD tach converter. However I have my heart set on getting a BEAMS cluster soon. I know someone who has one and last time we spoke about it he is willing to sell it to me

I'm glad to hear you are going the BEAMS route. You'll have to keep us updated on your progress.
