Hey Lumix! For a minute there, I thought you must have secretly borrowed my photographer and my car shoot location.

If it wasn't for the wheels, I might have even thought you stole my car as well!

looks great, nice choice. How do you find the 595's? I have been pretty impressed so far with mine.

Thanks! I haven't driven far on them, getting a wheel alignment tomorrow, but first comment I would say that road noise has increased but turning up the radio fixes that. I believe the steering also feels lighter and general handling has improved. I will comment more on them after the wheel alignment and some more kms have been driven.

Lol! GTR wheels were on my list too!

Only a small update. I bought some new floor mats from Matcraft and could not be happier with the fitment and overall quality. I just went for straight black edging and black carpet with a heel pad. I opted for no logos or branding for a clean finish. Very quick service, I ordered on Friday and they arrived today.

The mats have a crushed rubber backing designed to be non slip. I just went to http://www.matcraft.com.au/ and contacted them via email (Located in WA). The price was excellent in my opinion. Price was $60.00 (or $50.00 without the heel pad) + $16.50 postage.

Small update!

I couldn't stand the distortion any longer from the original speakers, so I went out and bought some new speakers(You can find the discussion in the Electrical/Ignition/Fuel Injection section). I decided to install the speakers myself, so I could learn more about the car, and of course to save some money. I only had one condition and that was to keep the stock Toyota headunit.

Fronts - Pioneer TS-A1702C 6.5in Splits
Rears - Alpine Type-S 4in
Amplifier - Pioneer GM-6400F 4Ch

I learnt a lot from the install, from removing the panels, to making MDF speaker mounts and laying the speaker wiring. I had a friend help me out...and he ended up going to hospital to get stitches. His leg got caught on a metal bracket [B)]. I wasn't 100% confident in doing the wiring from the amplifier to the headunit, so I took it to a auto electrician to finish off correctly first time round. As for the result, sounds amazing.

I wish I mounted the amp differently, so I will prob take it out and redo it. I screwed it to the firewall. I only did two screws, because I was having second thoughts. After reading robk's build thread and seeing that he mounted it onto MDF that rests behind the carpet... was great idea, can't believe I didn't think of it.

Poo poo old speaker

Good work lumix. I used plywood behind the carpet by the way, not MDF, because screws don't go into MDF very well. I am using MDF for my sub enclosure though.

Another thing Lumix...if you were going to change it so there is some plywood behind the carpet like mine, you may as well screw the plywood to the firewall (which I didn't) because you already have screw holes in the firewall now anyway.

Kameleon, the stock speakers in my Honda deteriorated badly like that too.

I have no real updates at the moment, still just enjoying the new audio. I went out and snapped some quick photos before it got dark today, and took a few photos after a small cruise with a mate on Saturday. I'm really happy how they turned out, I would love to play around with a SLR some time. Edit: The photos seem to have lost quality since uploading them to photobucket grrr.
