MCT's AW11 ....... 224rwkw @ 20psi
Hey guys, After floating around on the forum for just over a year now, i decided to give my adub a good wash and post some quick pics up. The car was originally owned by another forum member. It has 147k's on it. It has the typical 20 year old jap clear coat issues, and the paintwork particularily on the roof is less than great. Since owning the car, i have given the car a bit of a mechanical once over and clean up. So far i've done the following: *New T'Belt and timing case seals *Re-sealed the sump *New leads *Fitted a catch can *Replaced all the pressurised intake joiners *Re-built the driveshafts *Replaced rear wheel bearings *Replaced fron handbrake cable *Machined down rear hubs and sleeved with high tensile steel *Replaced bushes with urethance bushes. Still have a really long way to go with this car, plans include: *fix up the paint *new wheels *oil cooler & alloy radiator *bigger brakes *overhaul ignition system *aftermarket ecu

Nah, i wasn't at haunted hills. I have a few things i want to sort out on the car first. I have to rebuild the dizzy (should be doing it this week at work) as the internal bearing has a bit of play in it, which plays havoc with the pick-up.
Also want to fit an oil cooler for piece of mind (this one doesn't have the factory one.)

Hehe that was me :) MCT: what kind of wheels are you looking at getting for yours? I want to replace mine eventually also, the current ones I have are too modern looking for the adub I think.

haven't decided yet. Not gunna get wheels till i work out if im going to do the st185 front brake upgrade for it or not.
Ultimately i'd like some 5 spokes with a bit of dish, maybe in a dark bronze.

Well, it's been a while since i have updated (partly as i've been to busy to get much work done on it.) IGNITION: I have finally gotten around to sorting out the lack lustre performance of my ignition system. I got a new genuine rotor button and cap from work, and ordered a kbox overhaul kit. As my coil had high resistance, i have also fitted a MSD blaster 2 coil to boost the spark up a bit... It's a little hard to see, i got a little bit excited and fitted it before taking any pics. TYRES: As i had utterly destroy my adrenalines, i got a set of KU36's in 205/50 r15 for the rear. Grip better in the dry than the adrenalines, but wet whether driving is another story all together (Did a review, sitting in the tyre section of the forum.) There they are before fitting... And there they are after 1,000km.

Well, it's been a hell of a long time since i updated the thread on my car. A couple of months ago the car started running rough, using a bit of coolant occasionally and blowing a bit of smoke. A couple of weeks later, while driving to a mates house, i geared down coming of the freeway, and there was a dull thud, then massive vibration through the whole car, and a horrible noise. My first thoughts were something in the gearbox went or the clutch had destroyed itself, but i still had a working clutch and could select gears. so i slowed down, pulled over, and got the car towed to my mates place. Upon dropping the sump, i was met by something i never thought i would see: So, not trusting any part of the bottom end from this motor, i have picked up a 50,000km old 4agze bottom end through a toyota employee. I decided that while i was at it, i would give the motor a bit of a freshen up. At the moment, the block is off getting cleaned, decked, bored and honed, so i don't have any pictures, but i have accumulated a few parts for the build. Thus far i have... Later model GZE pistons, 50thou oversized. An engine gasket kit with .8mm MLS headgasket Head Studs Supertech stainless steel, black nitrated racing valves. They are standard diameter, but have been back cut and undercut to help flow. Also i have gotten a set of supertech double valve springs, titanium retainers, vitron seals and stainless spring bases. As the GZE intake manifold it one of the worst designed manifolds ever made, and have some shocking casting flaws, i have begun to clean the runners etc up to help with flow. This picture has been taken early on, but you get the idea... Hopefully, i will get a chance to keep this updated, but between organising and building the motor for the MR2, building an evil KE20 with a mate (build thread coming soon!!), and leaving toyota in a few weeks to another workshop, it might be a bit diffcult to do. Any thoughts, suggestions, or advise to do with the engine build would be welcomed.

Well, it has been a while since i have had a chance to go anywhere near a computer, but i have finally found a few minutes to update the build of my car. I have finally had the block dipped, checked, decked, overbored and honed, checked and prepped the rods and crank, and assembled the bottom end. I ended up using ARP main studs and rod bolts in conjunction with ACL race series bearings. I also had the head machined, checked, ported, and set up the double valve springs, and fitted a set of larger cams. The motor is assembled to a long motor setup, and i have been working on a smaller clutched pulley for the SC12, which if turns out sucessful, i will explain and show how it is adapted to the snout, giving you a 95mm clutched pulley. Due to the slightly bigger than planned rebuild, i will be running a motec M4 ecu with map sensor and air temp sensor, as i have played with too many area's to make it even remotely viable to run the factory ecu. I am installing a walbro fuel pump soon, and will retain the factory injectors for the run in tune, and depending on how the flow copes, i might upgrade to 550ish injectors.
