WTF is this? Cam belt steel post
What is the purpose of this steel post on a gen 2 3SGTE?
Mine came loose and fell down to the crank pulley and munged the belt. 😢
Will it be a problem if I don't have it?
I notice that the ST185 3SGTE doesn't have this post. It is only on the SW20 version.
Any ideas?
Mr Glengineering.

Weight reduction :)
Is it for the camgears cover (can't remember it). Maybe Toyota over engineered it for the gen 2, I can't see it on the gen 4 (what I have here at the moment).
