Complete Gen3 3SGTE from 1994 MR2
I'm selling a 99% complete Gen3 3SGTE from a 1994 MR2. I pulled it from a wreck myself about 10 years ago with the intention of replacing my Gen2 3SGTE when it died, but it just never gave up on me! Now I'm going 2GRFE I don't need this any more.
I pulled the engine down about 12 months ago to check the condition and start the rebuild, my love of procrastination meant it stayed in pieces in sealed plastic tubs in my garage.
The engine is still in very good condition, hone marks in the bores. The car it came out of had 170,000kms although it looks like at least the head has been refurbished in that time, the head is very clean and it has a 'guarantee void if removed' stamp on the rear.
The block could do with an acid dip to clean up the water galleries, it looks like the engine was run with incorrect coolant or just plain water, there is no serious corrosion however 1 welch plug has rusted out.
Pistons and rods are factory Gen3.
The crank is in excellent condition, no scores or marks.
I've pulled everything out and spread it over my garage floor to show condition and all the parts included.
If anyone wants additional pictures please let me know.
Included in the sale:
Full Gen3 engine
CT20B turbo with no excess shaft play
Stock Gen 3 intercooler
Stock Gen 3 intake and piping
Stock Gen3 exhaust manifold
Stock Gen3 dump pipe
3SGTE Gen3 ECU
3SGTE Gen3 engine loom
3SGTE flywheel, clutch and pressure plate (the flywheel ended up in my shed during one of my house moves, so it is covered in surface rust, it just needs a good clean and the face machined)
All nuts and bolts required for re-assembly, most in labelled zip lock bags.
I dropped the crank pulley onto the engine stand so it has a very small chip. I've also managed to lose the upper timing cover?!
I'm located in Medowie, 30 mins north of Newcastle. The parts are stored in 7 plastic tubs so it's going to be pickup only, I am not confident some of the tubs would survive any sort of courier handling, however if someone wants to take the gamble it's your call!
Price is negotiable.
Thanks for looking.
