MR2 AW11, what's the bumper cover material ? What are proven methods to repair cracks ?

Hi,
Ive got the common problem of bumper cover cracks. Id like to know what material its made of so I can correctly shop for glue or hot melt repair rods. Has anyone done this before or have a recommendation of what works well?
