Sharon has been helping out, Mike will help out with changes to safety plan, Brendan said he was coming along to help out. I am not interested in doing it all on my own so a committee would be great. I will be sending out a email to everyone who attended the last meet plus previous years to see what happens. Also taking to another guy who runs trackdays who may do a co-operative so we get the numbers. Will have a clearer picture in the next few days.

Good to hear. There are so many people that want this event to stay alive. Like most things these days, marketing is the key to success. Let me know how things go over the next few days.

If people want it to stay alive, they need to book a spot so it does. It's great that it has been kept alive since 2013 but really need to see people just sign up and make it happen. You can book a number of different options on the trybooking site but the garage allocation, class and accommodation option needs to be done manually. It's a job I will have to sort out this week so when you book, you receive a automated response with required info or a link for the before mentioned.

Maybe talk to Keven and co for an overview of numbers entering. I can think of at least six of us Queenslanders and there are bound to be others who don't participate in our club events who will probably go for the Nationals. I would like to think a number of the Nationals people will enter for Wakefield Park having already made the trip to Canberra. Great opportunity to bring the cars onto a very popular track. And it is a very safe event too. Starts off with the hill climb. (One car at a time). Lets you feel out your cars potential before running on the several different track layouts. Come on fellas. Get onto this. NOW.

12 official registrations so far. 4 of those are regular MR2 Track Day challenge competitors.

Ok, WP has given us til the end of June to get sorted. I have sent out emails to everyone from the last meet that I ran and will be sending email to everyone who entered from 2013-2016. All payments can be made via trybooking. If it does not meet the due date, the event will be cancelled with everyone receiving a full refund via the booking agency. For interstate entries who have committed to the meet, I will be talking to some people to organise a few track days as a replacement. Hopefully this will not be the case and we can go ahead as usual. If changing to full circuit for two days will help sway your decision, please let me know so I can make the change to this option. We can still run timed sessions and hot lap shoot out.

I'm in favour of more full circuit time. The hill climb is fun, but am always worried about hard launches when i have to drive my car so far home again, so i try to be gentle which restricts my ability to get a good time. I do enjoy the regularity. The shootout is a good experience, but its only a couple of minutes track time in an event that takes around an hour - would it be better to just have more track time? I'm pretty easy going, so will be there no matter how the event is run... Looking forward to catching up with everyone :)

^^Totally agree and feel the same as Rick has mentioned above. You can never get enough full track time in my opinion.

It is a hard call on the track layouts. The option is to have Hillclimb and Short Circuit till 12 then full circuit for the rest of the day and the second day. That may be the best so it gives full circuit on both days. As for the hard launches, you can just take off easy which is the best way to save the car. As its starting from the exit of turn 2, its a lot easier on the car for starts. I have an extension till the 28th of June so we do need to get entries in so this can work. I know a lot of people would hate to see it end but if people don't enter/support it, that will inevitably happen.

Unfortunately I have pulled out of the trackday challenge. Only 4 people signed up which is a far cry from when I created this event for the benefit of the MR2 scene. Peter did say the event is dead and he must be right. It was good while it lasted and I can always carry the great memories of where it came from there it's peak in 2016. Hopefully we can still catch up at the odd trackday here and there or someone or the clubs can organise annual trackday for the Mr2 scene. Thankyou to all that supported it over the years.
