Lapping at Morgan Park.
Wet roads for the drive up from Brisbane. Heavy cloud cover and about 18 degrees. Tiny sprinkle later in the morning.
Danny drove my thing for a few warmup laps with me sweating in passenger seat. He later had a proper go at it without me in there to annoy him. First time I had ever heard it from outside. Not nearly as noisy as I expected. Not nearly as scary as when driving the bloody thing either. Thanks Danny was really good to have a look at it on track. Hope it raised your adrenalin a bit.
The Satria felt quite light in the steering and it's brakes have a lot more initial bight compared to my thing. Lovely gearbox too.
I enjoyed the laps in it and thank you for the chance.
I put up 163km. in four hours on track. (40 KPH ) Felt quicker than that but there's the proof.
Following Danny out of a right hander and wondering why he's buggering about with the brake ??
Must be encouraging me to round him up on the outside of a sweeping left so yeah bloody oath. Boot in. WHOOPS.
Danny is actually quite busy trying not to have a bloody kangaroo come through his radiator and letting me know that all is not as it should be up front !!! Then I saw the roo and he had some extra motivation to get a crackle on. Dunno where he went.
No roo feathers on either car and I didn't even need me spare jocks. Thought I might be getting better at this but then I managed to mess it up under brakes a bit later and ran off big time right in front everyone. We'll call it a demonstration ?
Very enjoyable day and still grinning. Good company and lots of laps in a very easy going environment.
You blokes wouldn't like it though. Especially when you can be at work instead.
The car ran well again all day with coolant high of 92 degrees and oil temp high of 104 degrees.
Oil pressure at 1,000 RPM. hot idle is about 32 PSI. Increasing rapidly with revs to about 70 PSI.+
Gearbox is absolutely perfect.(Must be me super beaut gear knob). Clutch disengages properly even when everything is getting pretty warm after a lot of quickish laps. I am really enjoying driving this thing. Track is the place to let it loose. I am very careful to keep it quiet and gentle and under the limits on road.
