ROOS Bloody Roos Everywhere !!!!
We are about two hours into a track day at Morgan Park and I've exited a right hander at full noise just ballsing it up and getting well out on the ripple strip so paying lots of attention and clenching me rear end all at the same time (not the cars) so when I open me eyes again there are bloody great kangaroos heading from left to right everywhere. I kid you not. there has to be twenty of blighters and they are in a bloody hurry. One of em jams on his brakes, locks up on the bitumen and disappears below me left mudguard. The clenching failed. We're about five seconds into this by now so I start to react pretty quick and go fer the anchors and I'm not sure why but I also decided to switch on the windscreen wipers and wind up the window so obviously both hands off the wheel. There are still more of the buggers coming at me and they are doing a lot of dodging. I'm involved in a slow spin by now so I should hit em arse first at least. Un bloody believable. At a race track. It really is a wonderful country !!
So straight back to the pits but not a mark on the car. Well apart from all the ones that come standard with this car.
Funny smell that disappeared from the cabin when I got out ?? The other blokes all stood upwind from me after that?
All in a days track work in Australia. The McLaren monster didn't show. I guess he just knew he would get done.
I had a gt3 Porsche to keep me honest but really no threat. ( Well to him that is).
A great few hours and 135 kms of track time. And a very pleasant drive home again. Car ran strong again. Happy.
