Cabin heater wire broken

SW20 1994 GT with climate control -

So apparently my cabin heater/temp dial wire is broken at the cabin control end (according to mechanics). It's sticking out into the front bay onto the heater lever there and seems fine at that end.

How easy is it to rig something up to reconnect it? I assume I can't do it from the front bay end, and will have to pull the centre console apart? Any handy guides? Will i need a whole new cable, and if so, are they easy to find?

just closing off my own thread.....it wasn't moving with the slider in the cabin being moved because it's electric. I have climate control. Turn the car on and everything was fine.
