iridium spark plugs
we can now offer a good range of Japanese Denso IRIDIUM spark plugs. These are superb quality, and are designed to last around 80-100,000km, with performance and economy improvements along the way.
The common plugs like those for 3SG, 3SGTE, 4AG, 2ZZ etc are currently $18ea, but some odd ones are a bit dearer.
As a comparison, Repco's retail price for NGK's is currently $ 24.99ea
if you want some 'colder" plugs for race or heavily boosted engines, or non-toyota applications, then contact us to confirm prices.
all quoted prices include GST For April 09 only, set of 4 (for above listed engines), $80 posted
thanks

Hi Terry, Chasing some plugs mate. Can you get these in a 8 and 9 heatrange. Also, do these have removable terminals on them? I bought some NGK Iriway 8's only to find the terminals were spiked on, and upon trying to remove them sheered the whole threaded section from the top. A good waste of money. Previously wasted about $150 on about 32 NGK race plugs which ended up being non-resistor and giving EMF issues when used with a CDI ignition setup. For the coils I am using, I need to be able to remove the top terminal so I am left with just the threaded section. What price on pickup mate. Email me @ jamescol@optusnet.com.au if you'd prefer.

these plugs on special are "iridium Power".
We also have a limited supply of IRIWAY 7's, which are the most commonly used plug in very highly boosted engines. These are much dearer. Whilst they look the same, I'm told they have a different iridium alloy.

Thumbs up to the Iriway 7's, I highly recommend them. I used to use those & they were awesome (last LONG). I'd use them again but my MSD hates Iridium plugs.

I'm keen on some iridium plugs for a 4AGE small-port (AE101 100kW). I'll swing an email your way.

Hi mark, all is OK at this end. busy as usual.family fine.
I have the plugs in stock for the non-turbo 3SG. same price etc. their major advantages we have found are..... **the electrode is made from a precious metal (iridium alloy)that does not erode quickly. therefore plug gap remains constant over many years, not just months. **because of the electrode sizes and shape, the spark jumps more readily. this means it can work effectively with lower voltages. **they dont tend to fowl as easily as stock type plugs. this is really important in up-boosted turbo cars which might be running a bit rich down low, say from oversized injectors
Denso make various claims about increased economy and power ,the gains are so small, I have to wonder if they are within the bounds of experimental errors. Whilst some owners report decreased fuel consumption, much of this could be just due to new plugs, rather than these Iridium ones.
In any case, most quality (conventional) plugs are "dead" by 20,000km, and the engine goes off quite quickly after about 10,000km . Anything that helps this, is a good thing. If you are paying to have plugs changed, then these Iridium ones make economic sense.
