Intercooler setups

Hey guys, what intercooler setups are you guys all running? If you're running "trunk" mounted setup where are you dragging in air from and disposing it too? And how much power would you say is safe until the limit of an aftermarket side mount intercooler!!
TIA

IMO Wide opened ended question, many variables.

Turbo, turbo boost level and it's efficiency will vary temps out of the turbo inducer, impacting how much cooling is required. Style of driving will impact cooling style required.

Various side mount intercoolers are available with different efficiencies, generally will run up to 300rwhp, on occasional pulls, pump petrol. Heat soak is quick with repeated full throttle pulls in an Aussie summer day at that hp.

Boot mount; various methods of pulling in air such as cutting the rubber in the side air ducts and cutting the boot. Write ups online. Boot mount intercooler provides a larger core (cooling ability), keeps the intercooler piping away from ambient and radiating heat from the exhaust manifold and dump pipe. However there are also drawbacks of boot mount.

There are ways to enhance your intercooler via, heat shielding, ceramic coating, fans/shrouds, water sprayer, meth/water injection, cry02 or nos (if down professionally and track car).

Whilst turbo inducer efficiency (heat) impacts the intake, a large reason for engine issues is the lack of tune/fuel/cam/exhaust manifold/turbo/dump pipe/exhaust that gets the exhaust gas out. Restrictions and recirculating in exhaust gas is an engine killer however most want to blame the intake temps.
