any updates, who is doing your plug and play wiring harness?

Harness has been completed, took additional time / research due to the fact of being a later 99 model so tracking down exact wiring diagram was a little tricky, but Yes done. Harness was done by a guy by the name of Troy Wastell, located in VIC.
I haven't yet installed it, as I have another car I'm currently working on, which is priority ATM, soon as its out the way, I can resume on the 2GR again.... miss working on it to be completely honest! Will update soon

Finally getting stuck back into the 2GR conversion..

Standard flywheel removal

New 1MZ flywheel installed, unfortunately missing locating dowels, so no fitting gearbox ATM

New serpertine belt fitted

Time to cut off the factory cats & attempt making my own exhaust utilising existing manny, then connect up to my Y pipe

Gonna need a slight S bend piping, but think it will work

Its only about 200mm in length required, again a slight S bend required. Its going to be a 2" pipe up from the Y piping expanding to a 2.25" to meet up with the manifold piping

Mockup fitment of how it should sit once pieces are welded in

Not much getting done, as Im wanting to source a gearbox selector bracket... until then, tiding up a few other things which will need to be done.

On hold now until gearbox bracket can be sourced.... or maybe I can fabricate something up

Going to try utilise the factor air box or at least some of it..

Carefully cut / dremelled out the section I need, only for the maf sensor

Should be able to make this work, will see once engine is in.....& YES it is a piece of 75mm PVC downpipe :-)

Also got some parts I have been waiting for. Radium 3 way 3.0 bar (43psi) FPR, & 2GR quick connector to AN6

4 mtr fuel hose & a bunch of AN6 fittings

Looking great Mike. I would suggest removing the oil cooler, dismantling it then having it ultrasonic cleaned as it get very dirty in the elements of the cooler. Also recommend removing the camshaft oil galleries in the cam covers have the same treatment as these are two places which are easily missed but can cause a lot of grief.

Thanks Steve, I'll check them out. Hopefully all good, as the engine has only 60k on it with fully service history.

Fit test on manifold, few extra sleeves to get it down to 2" piping to the Y pipe

Ready for a proper weld, my homemade 2GR manifold....cause Im a tight arse & didnt want to spend the $700++USD on the Gouky headers

Welded, fitted up perfectly... now for the otherside

Otherside tac welded in place ready to be welded

Welded & bolted in place

Happy with where it sits & plenty of clearance

Engine harness installed, engine ready for installation

Engine fully prepped, ready for install

Just in case someone want to know the coolant hose part / number. Its the coolant hose that runs up along the drivers side engine bay fire wall. Has to be slightly trimmed to fit perfectly.

All bolted, fuel lines to be connected, along with shifter cables, then finish off remaining boot harness connection.
