My SW20 Mr2 new Photos photos from 2017 MTC Wakefield Park

I have never introduced my self here. My name is Danti been here from the day i got my mr2 last year September.
i have learned a lot about my mr2 from here and i like that.
So for the last week i have been searching and buying parts to make my brakes better. Especially after I fitted new BC Coilovers and front sway bar. It’s NA AUD 91 so early model. Been to Wakefield and Sydney Motorsport and i love the car.
What i have so far thanks for the info Deltav, Eric, and Peter Garrad.
-15/16 brake master (going to try all the upgrades below with out the larger booster for now)
-GTST R32 front calipers
-DeltaV front kit with brake lines (on order)
-22v rear calipers with rx7 brackets and rotors (if the rotors clear my GTR 32 wheels) if they don’t fit ill just buy gen3 rear rotors.
- QFM rear pads
- ProjectMu front pads HC800
- DBA 315x28 front Rotors
-rebuild kit for 22v calipers on order from Amayama

Thanks

Save your money just use gen 3 brakes and in put HC800 and high temp brake fluids that all need on a NA. I used this combo with gen 2 booster and slotted rotors on 340 rwkw sw20 and it stop it at Wakefield, had no fade at all. Invest in better rubber.

the problem with that it takes 2 weeks and my mechanic may not have time to fit them so close to xmas.
i can get aftermarket kit from band brakes for $170 for two calipers but not sure if aftermarket will be good.

1:16 is a great time, i only managed a best of 1:16.3 last year, which was my second time at Wakefield. I'm running Federal RS-R tyres on 17" wheels, but with stock suspension and brakes. ( I do have a Beams engine though ).

They should be fine for a few more track days. I've driven 1800kms to Wakefield, spent 3 days tearing around the track and driven home again. Then I've been to Mallala twice for track days (1600km round trip each time) on the same set of tyres. I'm really happy with them...

    Sorry welcome.
Have you got 2 gen disk and rotors now?
If you want to improve your times, it will not happen by upgrading to bigger brakes in a NA. You need to setup your suspension just right and put in HC800 pads even in a Gen 2 setup. Get a set Hankook Z2221 or better. Take some weight of the car, That will make you 2 second quicker per lap. Worry about the big brake after Wakefleid if think you need them. I know big brakes look and sound cool but it's an over kill on these light weight car. If you were doing endurance racing with high horsepower maybe, then I would get floating hubs etc, but were talking short sprint sessions.
