Gen 2 with a Beams Head

Can a beams head put onto a Gen 2 3sgte block? Would it be an idea to get VVT. As the is block is all recondition.

I don't think a 3sgte block has the necessary oil channels required for the VVTI on the Beams head.

Short answer no, long answer yes with mods.

The oil feed for the vvti is in block, the beams block has extra casting and lines up with a hole in the head gasket and head which is beams specific. You could theoretically weld the hole up and reface the head, then externally feed it....

But then you say your block is all reconditioned, if it already has gen2 pistons they wont work with the beams head. Valve angles are different, and the head cc is less which will increase your compression ratio significantly.

Heres a pic. Where the texta writing is, thats the vvti feed hole which is the alt area of the head. That hole will sit just out side of your block, but its bored at an angle.
