Newbie!

Hey Guys!

Just got myself my first MR2 and very excited to get playing with it! I'm sure I'll be on here asking lots of questions and things so hopefully I don't annoy you.

I'm 32 from England originally but been living in Australia for the last 8 years. Currently living in Manly.

Here are some pics, the interior is erm different so that will be getting swapped back to standard haha

Welcome to the forum and MR2 ownership. Your car looks great. What year is it? Give us some details. I gather it's a JDM turbo import? Someone obviously put a lot of effort into the car. Do you have any plans for it? If you're interested in taking it to the track, the MR2 Wakefield Challenge in January is an awesome event.
    Cheers
    Rick.

Welcome to MR2 ownership. You will find friendly helpful people on the forum. As Rick said, if you plan on some track time, the WP challenge is a great couple of days of friendly competition & socialising. Our next gathering for NSW is karting in the HV on 19th Nov. Check out the forum post for details. It would be great the meet you & see your car up close.

Go-karting and Track days?!? Love this forum already haha!!

I actually don't know much about the car except it used to be bright yellow, I swapped it with a Peugeot 206 gti180. It is a turbo import and 155kms on the clock. I dont even know what year it was made. Is there a way to find out? It says 1999 on the rego papers but i guess thats when it was imported.

It looks a lot nicer in photos than in real life, little rough around the edges but that's the fun bit tidying it up. No real plans as yet apart from the tidy and stereo until i know more about the engine of these things. It gets very hot and smelly in the cabin (but not sure if this is normal or not) and the suspension is pretty solid so will be changing that back to standard pretty soon too.

She's going to get a good clean tomorrow :)

So after a good clean I have found she is a 1990 gt turbo. Not much mods as far as I can see-
    - Cold air intake
    - bov has been welded off
    - stinger ecu

I also now have a list of goodies I need :) black carpet is a must

Yeah red leather and white snakeskin haha

They are actually in pretty good condition just dirty so thinking about dying them all black and see how that looks. Maybe keep a little bit of the red too

Thats a pretty good idea.  While the colour might not currently be to your taste there's clearly a lot of work in it.  I reckon dying it black sounds like a good idea.  At least your dash is still black.  And, I just noticed, you have monitors in your door, and console!!

Yeah there are screens everywhere haha even in the footwells! They will most probably go, no idea what I would watch on them! At least I have space in the doors for my crossovers :)

Finally had some time to spend on the mr2. Trying to get rid of as much white leather as possible and keeping some of the red. Pretty happy with the results but will see how it holds up with time.

While my car is off the road I thought it would be a good time to give my seats a refresh. Not sure how the leather dye will do over time but looks amazing now. Happy with the difference!!
