So, I was chatting with a workmate about this run, and he had a warning for us - a few months ago he got done for crossing a double line while overtaking on Mt Mee. The trick was the cops were driving an old unmarked corolla at about 30km/h on the mountain, and radioed a stationary officer further up the road to do the pull-over every time they were overtaken in frustration. Just something to be wary of if we hit traffic.

Thanks for the heads up but theyre double lines for a reason... I'd prefer to travel at 30 n not have a stack. I'm also not sure a cop would entice people into doing the wrong thing.

And I agree with you in that regard, but not everyone feels the same way so I felt it appropriate to share. And whether or not you believe the police would entrap people to generate revenue, its patently true that unmarked cars are used and will radio any misbehaviour forward, no matter what speed they were doing at the time.

Unfortunately i won't be able to make it tonight. Had surgery on my foot yesterday and don't think crutches fit too well in a zzw30. Enjoy the drive and I'll see about making December when I am back on the roads.

Great run, largest gathering of mr2's since the nationals. Thanks to the organisers. See you all in December or perhaps at the drift karts?? Or Wakefield park??

What a massive turnout for the MR2 Owners club qld november night run. With the warm queensland evening weather really turning it on and allowing the stars to shine bright on the night where we gathered up at Narangba village.

Meetup point was ideal with lots of room for everyone to have a chin wag about their pride and joy. With our belly filled with ribbs, handburgers and various dilectable pizzas from narangba village pizza we briefed our group and turned our wheels towards our adventure for the night. Twisting through the mount mee turns made it all the more special as we weaved our way through to the secluded mountain lookout. we filled the car park to the brim. Back down into carseldine through some more twisties and it was as exciting sitting in the car park after finishing the run with a bit of a buzz going on.

Special thanks go to Joel and Wil for completing the crucial pre course recon, which makes it a legitimate run for the clubs use on the night. We want to thank danny for the use of the channel 16 UHF radios for without them it would make it ever more so difficult to orchestrate communications.

Sam and gf in his tough little sw20 freshly purchased - I'm glad the leaky bits stayed plumbed up for you mate, get them looked after in the next couple of weeks.
Zac in the white two tone sw20 mid restoration - its coming along nicely mate, whens the turbo going on?
John and Tartan in their beautiful black spider zz30 - the cleanest car on the night award should start here.
Roger in his award winning 2015 best modified bathurst sw20 - charge that radio battery mate, you'll know we were praising you not dissing you mate. Great to see you out.
Jaimie and gf in the gold sw20 riding on tuff 18's - tuff 18's .. so tuff... looking good with the paint job too.
Wil and Aria in his awesome two tone supercharged aw11. still the loudest out of the group, like an angry hornet.
Erin in her flared and stanced white na aw11 - looking good with that phatness bringing the presence.
Tyler in his dark blue supercharged aw11 - listening to that 4age hit supercharge boost never gets old.
Joel in his superstock sw20 bathurst leading the way - forever grateful for the recon, well done.
Ben and partner in his ebay loud sw20 - yes it is loud, but not as loud as wils aw11.
Eric and Danny in erics 3.5L 2gr supercharged v6 sw20 - 2nd place for cleanest car on the night should been yours.
Kris in his awesome 2.2L 5sgte turbo Sw20 - 3rd place cleanest car on the night - always a pleasure to have it out.
Thomas and gf in his honda f20c powered sw20 - we need to see this out more, its an engineering masterpiece!
Ryans blue rally spec carlos sainz tuned corolla - say no more, its on the road and cutting up front tyres again.
Johan and Katya in his beautiful lotus elise - thanks for coming out after spending the day with ferraris and porsches. I heard the ribs were a treat!

we also had joining us
honda k20a swapped civic - sounds tuff, angry and a little bit .... well, good to be honest. Swap it into a zz30?
ford xr6 turbo - soaked up the curves and hung with the aw11's through the corners, great driving.
a red 4age corolla - still a toyota at heart just with the engine in the wrong position for the club, but we'll still have you. 4age for life.

I didn't catch up with everyone but the spirit of the group was great to see.
Thanks to everyone who attended keeping with the directions from the club members and making us proud on the night and not losing anyone over a cliff or on any roundabouts.

The next event is the christmas party on the 11th December. Keep your eyes on the faceballs and posts for the details and directions.

Ben.
