MR2 WPC - QLD Invasion - Attempt 2

Hi All,

I've noticed that not a lot of Qld'ers have registered their interest for the community run MR2 Wakefield Park Challenge.

Currently, there is Myself, Doug and Roger going. I'd like to see more! It's a fantastic event, one of the highlights of my year without a doubt and great value for money

Thread here: http://www.mr2australia.com/mr2play/tm.aspx?m=126984

Hoping that this post can generate some interest in others who haven't thought of going to the event yet. If there are some people interested in going but concerned about the long drive, we can look at doing a convoy like the SA guys do.

I understand that people are cautious about damaging/breaking their car on the drive to or from Sydney. If you have RACQ Ultra care ($180~/year) they will get you and the car home for you if they cant fix it.

Happy to answer any questions from anyone who is considering going

Current QLD'ers
1. Eric
2. Doug
3. Roger
4.

Perhaps they are too busy polishing. The cars were built to drive. Having said that are there any places left

Is Erin bringing her AW11, or are you worried she'll show you up Eric?

Eric is most definitely very worried about Erin being faster and he continues to spend big on even more shiny things.
He and Danny must be the two richest blokes in Qld.

Officially there are quite a few spaces left at this stage. Last year the 50 target was exceeded and we are confident that this will happen this year as close to 30 registrations have already been received (not all yet paid). Biggest change is that this year the event has become a not for profit MR2 Community managed event and we require to have our track hire and associated costs covered by 31 October 2016. Typical of this type of event, there is always a last minute rush for registration as entrants often like to delay payment as late as possible. But taking this late option, you always run the risk of missing out on what has become the best value fun you can have in your MR2 (or other trackday car for that matter) and the unbeatable social atmosphere of this event. There are also only 30 garages available and these are allocated in order of registration and payment. The remaining entrants are supplied with carports.

To make life easier for some. you can register and secure your place and garage with a deposit of $200 and pay the balance in minimum instalments of $100 by 31 October 2016.

Hopefully - see who will come along at the tech day.

If we get a large volume coming, we can look at convoying it down. The drive takes roughly 12 hours but we could break it up over 2 days if people prefer
