I'm located in camberwell victoria, and was wondering if anyone in my neck of the woods had a spare working edu that i could plug in for a test. and if it works ill have cash at the ready. don't want to buy one if its not the issue. cheers

What is the car doing or not doing? Have you pulled any fault codes from the ecu?

I have spark, fuel pressure, tested all wiring, new coul and igniter. But no pulse at injector leads. I have pulse just before the ecu from the igniter. The car was running fine and then started randomly shutting off, now nothing at all.

Bea good idea to say what year 3sgte. There are 2 variant of the gen2 ecu, and then the gen3 one also.

Grab the part number from the ecu casing and that will tell you if its an early or late gen 2. Have you tried pulling fault codes from the ecu? Hopefully whoever did the engine conversion connected up the ecu fault light on the dash (which flashes the codes) Might be worth going straight to an ecu swap out as you suggested if you can borrow one locally or from on here. I wonder if the injector resistor pack is okay? The Big Green Book has tests in it to confirm its good from memory.

There is a place in vic called logicar that can test and repair ecu's. Will cost about $150 to test.

They dont come through to the dash. After testing just about everything the only thing left is ecu.

Pretty easy to get the warning light connected up and working. It should be in the AW11 body harness connector which I think is called N1 (in the boot). That connects straight to the corresponding pin on the ecu. Mine never had this and a few other warning lights/indicators (oil pressure) connected. Was an easy fix. Did you find the ecu part number? You'll need to know that before trying another.

I had a similar issue recently, remove the ecu open the casing and look for leaking or blown capacitors, I did this found two leaking ones took it to my local jaycar the guy replaced them for $25 solved all the problems I was having it was the same ecu as yours, might not work but its worth having a look.
