ARC intercooler

Hi guys,

I have a 94 JDM turbo.
Just wondering if anyone has used the ARC intercooler, its a stock replacement, just a little bit bigger.

I am not looking for big horse power, just better response from the turbo during summer.

Cheers Jim

They're quite good, one of the higher surface area SMIC's for the MR2.
With that said though unless you can get one for cheap - and ARC's tend to be REALLY expensive, I find it hard to come up with a compelling argument against the chinese greddy clones as a decent upgrade to a stock system.
From there if you're chasing more boost than that can offer cooling for you're just wasting time if you don't go to a W2A setup.

I've used ARC, Phoenix Power, Greddy/Trust side mounts, and greddy/Trust was the best.

Have ditched all of them for a top mount border a2a now, which does the job, but a W2A provides much more consistent intake temps. I just didn't want to introduce another water system to the car.

Curiousity really. ARC was average to be honest. Intake temps still soared 35+ over ambient after a full boost run or two. Struggled to drop back down unless you had a lot of airflow like on a highway.

I have a top mount border a2a for sale if anyone is interested.  Its the whole kit including pipe work, silicon joiners, clamps and a Greedy blowoff vavle to suit a SW20.

I have had an ARC intercooler and aftermarket exhaust on an otherwise stock Gen3, and it got 150kw at the wheels on a MR2 club dyno day. Engine had done less then 90,000 klms.
