I bought this RA60 for $1500

I'm restoring it and will put historic rego on it.
It has genuine 107,000kms on the clock.
It has however been outside all it's life and has a couple of rust spots and the dash is cracked. Everything else is great!
The paint is VERY good

Mr Glengineering.

I had an MA61 Celica Supra between MR2's, great era of classic Toyotas.
    Don't see any around anymore.
    Eventual 2JZ swap, maybe?

I plan to keep it mostly original. If was was going to do a swap, I'd probably do a Lexus V8

There wasn't much to do, though this is what I have done so far, from memory.
    1. Rust repairs in the drivers side sill
    2. Rust repairs in the drivers door
    3. Replaced the bonnet and sprayed it. There was too much rust in it to fix
    4. Replaced the metal panel in front of the windscreen due to rust
    5. Rust repairs in the hatch
    6. Welded up the holes in the exhaust pipe. The exhaust system is still 100% original!
    7. Replaced the alternator and external voltage regulator. They both died.
    8. Replaced the starter motor. It was sticking intermittently, so I replaced it
    9. Replaced the coolant gasket on the bottom of the inlet manifold. It was leaking
    10. Changed the filters in the auto gearbox and sealed the pan (it was leaking)
    11. Replaced the sump gasket (it was leaking)
    12. Replaced the front crankshaft seal and oil pump seal (both were leaking)
    13. Replaced one of the radiator hoses (the heat from the exhaust manifold had made it brittle)
    14. Installed lowered springs
    15. Installed new ST204 strut tops
    16. Installed front roll centre adjustors that also provide negative camber
    17. Fixed the dodgy radio wiring
    18. Replaced the heater fan speed resistor
    19. Re-gassed the air conditioner
    20. Reconditioned the steering rack and mounting bushes and replaced the tie rod ends
    21. Added a MA61 Supra rear window shade/spoiler
    22. Replaced the side mirrors with JDM wing mirrors from a 1982 Carina.
    23. Added window tinting
    24. Replaced the crappy wooden aftermarket steering wheel with a very good condition OEM wheel
    25. Painted the air cleaner box
    26. Replaced the badges on the B pillar
    I think that's all :-)

Wow, you've been busy. Not sure how you find the time between mr2 mods, track time and adult duties!

I have recently brought my te72 home after being in storage for 8 years. Old man got it new in 1979 and it's still in great condition but needs hoses, fuel lines etc renewed. It's actually got ma60 supra wheels on it.

    This is certainly motivating, cheers.

I love this gen Celica. It tells no lies, and doesn't pretend to be anything it's not.

I guess it's because this one didn't really have a lineage to live up to, or a raving fanbase to disappoint.

Just a beautiful, well designed, reliable car, that's a pleasure to drive.
