Swapping to 4th Gen 3s-gte (ST215)

So I'm considering doing this after having so many little issues with the 2nd gen that it's starting to do my head in. It looks dead simple (comparatively), it literally bolts in on top of a 2nd gen, all you have to figure out is the electronics, make the water neck fit, get creative with the AC and change your piping to make it fit.

In Perth, how do I get one, and how much should I be looking to pay?

One went on Japan yahoo with loom, box, dash etc for 61k Yen last night (Around $800AUD!) but I wasn't prepared and most of the shipping websites were quoting about ~$1200 extra to get it to me, which seems a bit much, or am I just looking at it wrong? (My friend in Japan shipped a honda transmission to freo from osaka for ~$150 a few years ago but that company has since gone out of business).

also be worth having a chat to the guys at wtf in kelmscott http://wtfauto.com.au/  Tristans the man in Perth to see if you wanting to build a 3sgte or explore replacement engine options.

Hey Pete, thanks for all that - yeah it does seem like that, but at the same time that 3s is in much better condition than the one I saw in the auction!
Do you know of any running 4th gens in Perth? Wouldn't mind talking to owners. I'll have to give WTF a call.

Much hype and talk of gen 3 and gen 4 and a 2gr thrown in .... Realistically what $$$$ + $$,$$$ will you put into it and what's the goal.

Having seen many posts of hype talk and cars half done (mine included) you need to commit $$,$$$z or drive what you got for what it is (mr2s not a corvet or lambo)
