Cooling fans.

Hi, just after some help working out why my radiator cooling fans are not coming on when I disconnect engine bay temp sensor. The interviewer fan comes on but not rad fans. They do work because they come on with turbo timer. I'm guessing it has something to do with turbo timer. Any ideas?

Mine only come on with a/c on or if the cars about to over heat (happened when my thermostats died). Engine bay temp sensor is disconnected. Be interested to know more about the wiring / triggers of the radiator fans.

Engine bay temp sensor when disconnected will only trip the intercooler fan.

I believe the AC amp controls the rad fans, if there was a fault in the circuit the rad fans would run constantly it was purposely designed that way. My AC amp was fried a while back and my rad fans would always run, got it replaced now it only runs when reaching certain temps (usually when sitting in traffic) or when the air con is on.

Thanks, I have read that they should come on. This is what I'm wanting, to have them running all the time and see if it makes a difference to after stop boiling.

    I have a 1990 with a gen 3 3stge.

You can try disconnecting your radiator temp sensor that will trip the fans to run.

Yeah disconnect the radiator temp sensor for the thermo fans to come on
Engine bay temp sensor for the IC fan to come on
