3rd track car in prep... Now PARTING OUT 99 Bathurst Rev 5

Well... again, couldn't help myself.
This came up available, I just had to have it!
Its a Rev 5 1999 Bathurst sw20, got it on the cheap... will explain why in a minute.

Condition overall... EXCELLENT!  & drives like a new car.
Interior - near immaculate
Exterior - same
Engine, including all running gear - same (only done 140,000kms)

Problem: Was placed on the repairable written off register in 2012, when it was involved in an accident (front end - nose clip)... been professionally repaired since, yet never re-registered :-(

Options:
Because the last owner I purchased it from apparently wasn't the owner when accident occurred, he doesn't have any pic / details of the damage / repairs etc.
That being a problem for the inspectors here in Adelaide, now I'm faced with either having it fully repaired again, so appropriate evidence can be supplied, followed by an engineering report, followed by the 2 x inspections required at regency..... costly :-(

Sooooooo... what to do. This is such a hard decision as the car is in excellent condition & I personally would be happy to keep it in the condition it is... if any of you know me, im pretty fussy with my cars, but unfortunately it would never see the road again... not my plans at all.

If it leads to it, this maybe my new 2gr conversion car.

Will keep you posted
Updates to come:

It looks far too nice to be relegated to the track!

Early model lip on it, and half n half front indicators...  If its that nice though it might be worth 'saving it', clean stock examples should be preserved.

Oooh a 1999 Rev5 Bathurst!  One of only 23 sold that year.
Nice paint too, is it the factory colour?
But yes, that doesn't appear to be the original nose - Bathursts had the fog lamps deleted, AFAIK.
Surely it doesn't need to be repaired again,  just an engineering inspection / certification to show it's been done correctly...?

Yep, its had a gen 2 replacement front bumper put back on it, hence the fog lights too.
Unfortunately it does need to go thru the whole repair process again... bloody political crap..
Yes its the original paint / colour.

Could you not track down the original panel beaters that did the repair and get the evidence from them?

Mate, don't worry, I'll try every possible option to get this back on the Australian roads. .. such a nice car!
I've been quoted $4k to re - repair / repaint front bumper & bonnet + $550 for the engineering report + $280 for a tier 3 damage inspection, then at last a $250 tier 2 road worthy inspection. .... then stamp duty, new plates, rego and we're done.

Hmm yeah that's some expensive re-repairs.  Oh well, I'm sure a Bathurst will make an excellent 2GR track car.

Well.... thought I should pull it down myself & inspect previous damage / repair job.

I can see where it has been repaired, not a perfect job, but I'm pretty happy with it.... not sure regency would be though, as I know how picky than can be.

I don't think the re-repair is as expensive as you might think.. I mean the photos show that the majority of the work has been done(?)
