WTB: Spherical bearing shift cable bushings kit

Hey all,

Chasing a 'spherical bearing shift cable bushing kit' if anyone has an unused kit they no longer need. I have been recommended a few time to get spherical over brass or skateboard bearings.

Cheers

    Hi Lumix,
There has been a recent discussion on the same subject, started by petmr2, with the title Solid Brass Shift Bushing.
I have the Delta V spherical bushing kit & reckon that they are good.
However the Delta V web site doesn't appear to list them any more.
    Maybe contact Delta V.

Thanks Peter, just having a look through the thread now.

Unfortunately Delta V haven't had them in stock for the last few months, been checking regularly. I recently got in contact again for an update and they are currently looking for another supplier that can manufacture the kits at a reasonable cost.

Originally I wanted OEM bushes but Toyota Parts told me I had to buy the entire cable to get it.

Really! That is cheap! Seems too good to be true, but cheap enough to give a go. How long you been using them for?

Carmikey do you still have that bearing number?
I searched for the ebay item number 161943392633 but it did not come up.

Had also read Delta V stopped selling their shifter cable kits.

I got a polyurethane set from UK, but don't appear to have details on this computer.
    Will look at home tonight.

    Update:

    Currently installed: CRW spherical kit
    GEBK8S bearing
    BRD poly bush kit

CRW kit needs to be packed out with a bunch of washes that are not included in the kit, for the money you pay for a 'custom' item, the washers should fit perfect/or extras included with varying thickness. If you do not pack it with washes, I believe it causes shifter shake in 3rd gear on let off (higher rpm). I have already replaced one spherical bearing due to wear on the bearing (I daily drive my car approx 10-15k km a year). With that said - shifting feels nice and smooth in all gears.

GEBK8S bearing - maybe I got a duds with my eBay purchase but my bearings arrived with play. Never installed them due to poor quality. They could wear out a lot quicker than the CRW kit due to the brass sleeve.

BRD poly bush kit (UK), very well made poly bush kit, perfect fit and included all the hardware. I was hoping for a softer poly but it was very hard. In my opinion It made shifting from neutral to 1st gear very stiff due to the bush not flexing to the cable angle. I found the shifting from 1st to 2nd stiff. I liked how the bush felt from 3rd to 4th and 5th to reverse. I drove for about 2 weeks on this kit and swapped back to spherical. I did not get 3rd gear shifter shake on lift off using this kit, possibly due to a perfect fitting bush?

I would like to try a softer poly or softer poly/rubber and brass insert combo to replicate how it was from factory.

    Just my thoughts.
