Forum member 'voodoo' does. Forum member 'jaemus' did have one, which he sold a few years ago to a guy in Tasmania I believe. I can't remember what happened with Tree's one.

And me. Then there's Mandalay and Darren (mister_two) in Melbourne, plus an SW20 track car for sale on my105.com. Maybe a couple more out there, but probably not a whole lot.

Wouldn't mind having a Beams one day, currently have a standard gen 3 motor. Does the Beams motor make the car significantly quicker over the previous gen motor?

My experience is definitely 'yes'. Seems to have a bit more low down torque, and heaps more top end power all the way to redline. A 3sgte would be a better bang for buck option, but for guys like me that aren't a fan of turbos then the Beams is a great option. Has anyone modified their Beams in any way? Mine is still stock, including original airbox and exhaust. I've read that some people are getting 185hp at the wheels with a piggyback and tune....

Yeah I'm not much of a turbo guy either, would rather keep the car NA. Thanks for that, might be a possible swap one day.

Changing the airbox is a road to ruin with the RedTop. The standard one was very carefully designed by Yamaha to smooth airflow over the MAF sensor and no aftermarket one works as well apparently. The vanes inside the airbox are critical to that. The lengths of the pipes and the volume of the resonators are also designed to make it all work just like a pipe organ, with everything in precise tune. I started off with a regular Bathurst airbox on my first Redtop and thought it was pretty good, but then I managed to find an OEM BEAMS airbox, and there was instantly more power available right across the rev range.

I'm running the airbox and all associated bits that came with the Beams half cut :)

Well, now that you ask… There's a bloke in Vic, he's put a rotrex on his. It's probably one of the most detailed (bordering on obsession for its quality) builds I have seen. Unfortunately I have never seen it in the flesh, only the inter webs. The owner got a bit of trolling and criticism from some here and there so he took down his postings and his pics. Our loss really, would love to see him and his car back.

Sounds nice, do you have a showroom thread, or pics of your car?
