[VIC] FS 1990 SW20 Black Manual Hard Top $5400 with RWC

For sale is a 1990 toyota mr2.
 
This MR2 is a rare Japanese delivered hardtop model fully optioned with front bumper fog lights, air conditioning, retractable side mirrors, climate control and had the luxury stereo system which included an antenna in the windscreen (I did replace the speakers because the old ones were blown). It has 120,000 k’s on it, and the low k’s are reflected perfectly with the interior of the car. The roof lining of the car looks like it is brand new and definitely never smoked in and the car has genuine MR2 floor mats. While the mats are worn, the carpet under the mats is in perfect condition, looks far less than 120,000 kilometres. The original tool kit is still in the car, along with the spare wheel.
 
The car has recently had (all in the last 4000 k’s) 
-New spark plugs
-New spark plug leads
-New tires on the front (tires on the back still have good tread)
-New brake pads all around
-Brakes bled
 
The car has some tasteful mods including an alpine head unit with bluetooth phone connections and a mic for taking phone calls, alpine type s 6 inch speakers in the doors, and sony Xplode 6x9 speakers behind the driver and passenger seats. It also has a kicker 10 inch sub behind the passenger seat, which makes the whole stereo sound great. It has Tein adjustable coilovers sitting at a nice height and a comfortable spring rate which is the perfect balance between stiffness and comfort. The wheels on the front are 16x7 SSR watanabe’s and the rear is 16x7.5 Racing Hart’s. It also has a Nardi-Personal steering wheel with a small amount of wear on the top from the sun. It has an autopista wing on the rear which makes the whole car look great (easy to change back to stock if you don’t like it). It has an Xforce exhaust with a single tip which looks and sounds great. The dash is uncracked which is very rare on an MR2.
 
Unfortunately the body of the car is not as good as the rest of the car, with clear coat peeling on the roof, and the rear wing has paint cracking due to a bad spray job some time in its life. The wing has also developed a small ceack on it. There are scratches throughout the body, but it will come up nice with a good polish.
 
The gearbox also could use the second gear synchro replaced if your fussy, which should be a cheap fix (I was told around $300 to replace them all) however, the car drives fine as it is and i have never had a problem with this. (It’s really not that bad).
 
The engine has a small oil leak somewhere, however it doesn’t effect the car at all. every couple of thousand kilometres it could use a slight top up. I wasn't able to find where it was leaking from, but someone else might be able to. This also didn’t bother me, I just kept giving it small top ups every now and again.
 
The car will be sold with the remaining registration and a roadworthy certificate.
 
This is a really beautiful MR2 and I will be sad to see it go, however, it deserves a little bit of work done to it that I don’t have time to do. I have been as honest as possible when describing the car, and all inspections are welcome. I have factored the work that the car needs in the price and think that it is very fair. The price is $5400 with a roadworthy certificate.
