What are you doing to your MR2 in the lead up to the Nationals?

I have been doing plenty to mine in preparation recently, and today I thought, I wonder if anyone else is working on there MR2 at the same time.

I have been tying up loose ends that I've been putting off, and getting carried away with other things at the same time.

I've designed (maybe I borrowed the design and adapted to suit) and cut out a catch can and sent it off to be welded.

I've done a fair bit of rewiring.  Wideband, gauges, I/C water pump, Engine Lid thermo fans.

I got a bit excited on updating the lighting in the cabin and somehow have ended up with my HVAC completely pulled apart, and I mean completely, the only way it could get any more disassembled is if I was to desolder the components, which actually some of them will be.

I have hit a small snag though.  I was going to update the dash lighting to either red or white LEDs but my Greddy gauges light up a nice 90s style green, urgh.  Red LEDs in these make the needles look awesome but thats about all you can see, so not a good solution.  Red and green is too Xmassy for me so I guess its green and cool white.

Other than that detailing central.  What have you been doing or going to be doing?

It's a long way from Vic to Qld (including a track day), so to make sure the car gets me there and back I'm doing a couple of things that I've been putting off:

    Change oil and filter
    Change front rotors and pads.
    Change brake fluid.
    Change clutch fluid.
    Fit a new battery.
    Replace 2 leaking coolant hoses.

There will be more stuff to do, but that's enough to start with.

Fitted volt/oil pressure/oil temp gauges into the single din and have had cruise control fitted using an original MR2 stalk.  Looking forward to the long drive from Melbourne.

Edit: Pics of the gauges with lights on and off are attached.  They are not as bright as they look.  Thanks to Ian and all the info I obtained from the MR2 Owner's Club newsletter.  I've also replaced the driver's side carpet and had the car polished.  There's also been a last minute, unscheduled, headlight bulb replacement.  Now just need to pack!
