Dudeman, I'm actually starting to like the Honduh again....LOL Prolly cos I installed an intake so it's got a bit of heart.... *ricer in me* tommy_mr2, motivation is hard to come by during a build. Up & down kinda thing, but it's worth it @ the end. Nothing further to report, still running it in, but don't have much time to drive it given my work schedule. I'm aiming to give it a powertune after I complete my trips abroad (Mayish). Quickpic someone took @ the AllAboutStanceMeet:

Quick update, to honour the Queen on her Bday we did some tuning on the Deuce. Changed oil back 2 synthetic & fixed the small leak from the sump plug ring/seal.Still seemed a bit tight, so we decided not to push, but I'm happy to report it still made 300rwkw with 17psi backing off @ 8000rpm. Very happy with it. Didn't even get near the point of detonation. Behaving perfectly Hitman reported it was coming on boost very strong & the new bottom end is acting textbook. For those of you that have Power FC's & can relate, knock wasn't going over 30 (used to be double). Most quiet forged engine I've had so far.
Will give it a proper push in 6-9months time depending on how much mileage I can add.

Jay, Have you ever considered doing a race gas or E85 tune with the previous engine or this one once its done some KMs? Just to see what its capable of and the driving experience?

Surok, just 1-2 more psi & bit more of an engine break in & it's the same as yours (not to mention I'll go back to 8500rpm). That's without pushing timing, which it'll respond very well too in previous experience. I'm happy cos it's exactly where I'd expect it to be right now. Looks correctly on track to be back to its previous 330rwkw without pushing too hard on timing. Prefer not to stretch it in future, since these days even if it makes 350rwkw that's really nothing to write home about. Hitman also mentioned there's definitely been a response improvement too. purple5ive, the bottom end is very nice & refined at the moment. It's a shame that the only noise is coming from some flat spots on my HKS 272's (which appear to be "softer" than I'd like). Even at cold start it's not noisy (but obviously a bit more so than when warmed up). Certainly a lot more quiet than when I had Arias pistons & an excessive overbore (2L days). Nick, I've always considered different fueling, but it's not on the cards. The Power FC is really holding me back to be honest. E85 is scarce in Western Sydney, so really not feasible. The total conversion cost (fuel system, 3bar MAP etc etc) is quite high & I really don't need more power as it is. Would be $5k I bet to go E85 with a Haltech & flex sensor. Also don't want to lower the range of the tank either if I stuck with the FC. Maybe in future, but certainly not in the short term. If I pushed 27psi+ & E85, I'm sure I'd start a 400rwkw MR2 club. The 3S really responds well to ignition timing & good fuel, so my motor is really the ideal candidate for E85.

The length of the build would probably be only one factor...the blood, sweat and tears along with pulling out hair sessions would be another thing all together! Great car and nice work man, I would love to drive a 300kw mr2 - I've only got about 180kw and I still can't get enough of driving it after nearly 3 years! (I've got dreams of building a 300kw if/when my engine breaks). As for 350kw onwards...I guess you'd be only really chasing numbers there ay.

The bottom end rebuild didn't take long. Including the amount of time I was waiting for parts, maybe 2-3 months approx. Keep in mind I already had turbo, fuel system, cylinder head work, manifolds etc already sorted.

^ looks like you will see it in the flesh next month Removed the Sard front on the weekend so I could change the dodgy mesh that was bodged during the W2A install. Thanks to Julian for the help. Whole exercise completed perfectly in record time. Took the opportunity to take a few quick phone pics & measurements to help out anyone planning a W2A setup. It's a custom ordered PWR core with Racesolutions fabricated end tanks. Still have AC. Required trimming of my front bar. Core - 60x15cm core End tanks - approx 45mm
