What did you use to delete the stock oil cooler? was it something off the shelf or custom made?

Soaren - details/thread on the new Leggie? Found the typical tranny fluid leak on mine last week when doing the major service, so dropped the box, welded the carrier pins, replaced the wave spring with a solid unit, changed seals & filter too. All good now, but I'm going to take it easy on the box anyway.

Nick - that's fair. My wife was won over by the colour, seats, price & practicality.

All custom made. WTF Auto/Tristan made the bracket & supplied the oil cooler. Located at the factory sidemount IC location. Remote oil filter/relocation. On my 3S blocked stroker, I ran the factory oil cooler too, but ditched it all together with the 5SGTE build. Was a bit of a PITA though.

Been a while since I updated anything with the MR2. Mainly because not much has been done @ all since the birth of my daughter.....hahaha

My Pioneer head unit gave way so I was forced to replace it. Ended up going with a Kenwood DDX4033 DVD/MP3 etc which I got at a really good price (sub $400 fitted). Came with a free kenwood ipod/aux cable. Didn't get the optional navigation unit for it due to the price & its quality anyway. Highly recommend this unit, they're so cheap now compared to a few years ago.

Made a silly boo boo last week. Got distracted when topping up the levels & didn't tighted my Greddy oil cap. Just as I got to the MR2 meet, I heard it fall off. No biggie, as the Greddy cap was annoyingly difficult to remove especially when hot. Supported local retailers & picked up a HKS oil filler cap from Autobarn ($99). Much better since you can use a screwdriver to turn it (used to resort to rubber bands/sticky cloths).

Apart from that, got a Tanabe exhaust for the IS250 for Xmas (good old Wifey).

First car related "stuff" for 2014. Very light on the MR2 side, only did a service/oil change a week or so ago.

But in other news, the MR2's stable mate got some attention by way of new rims. Pretty happy with the "all black" Toyota/Lexus garage now.

Picked up a bargain on gumtree. Buddy Club P1 II Plus:
F - 19x8.5 +22
R - 19 x 9.5 +22

Surprisingly, they sit perfectly with only natural camber from the Tein S-tech springs & DO NOT RUB even with unrolled/modified guards. The rear tyres have a bit of stretch, but nothing ridiculous.

Also purchased a GFX rear lip for the IS which will be installed/painted at the start of May. After that, the IS250 is "complete". Will probably do a photoshoot with the MR2/IS250 together in May.

Completed the IS250 with the fitment of the GFX rear lip. Took quick pics @ lunch to try shake off my photography rust. Can't wait to do an all black Toyota/Lexus shoot. Always dreamed of snapping up the MR2 & Lexus together.

Did more to the Legnum, 3inch Fujitsubo cat-back, walbro pump, Grimmspeed 3port boost solenoid & had it reflashed my TME. Goes much better & ended up with 162.5awkw @ 11.8psi. Midrange torque is much better & fuel economy has improved. Pulls as well as a bog stock Evo from my feel. The auto robs power, so it'd be about 25kw more if manual.

Debadged it too & fixed a little bubble in the dash.

Trial fit some suspension & it was immediately obvious it was ridiculously low. I'm clearly ageing as I'd have loved that once upon a time. Before I fit bigger wheels & raise it.

I can relate to this.  'Back in the day' I used to have a minitruck that used to roll about an inch off the ground, the ride was ****, I couldn't go into carparks as I'd get stuck and I'd simply poop myself if I ever saw cops.  I thought all this added to its 'coolness'.  These days I prefer my cars to ride and handle well.

A lot more sensible now. Trying to get my garage line up in a more "Jay" kind of a spec. No massive spends, just attention detail & overall ability. Coated my old 19's in matching pearl white, changed the suspension/raised the height, tinted the windows, touched up the exterior, restored the headlights/foggies/instrument cover, installed a Rhino "diy" lip, installed 6.5 Polk component speakers (sound very clear even w/o amp).

Didn't totally neglect the MR2. Took for a few drives recently & it started to sound like a tractor, found the dump bolts had come off.

A trip to Robbo's spares & $4 later, problem solved & the MR2 is soldiering on.

Wagon looks great now! You going to ditch the yellow number plates as well? The basic slimline personalised black/white ones wouldn't stand out as much.
