MTC dinner and awards night 6/5/2015

The dust has settled from the MR2 Australia Challenge 2015 with everyone in preparation of 2016 there is still the task of handing out the awards.
The entrants from S.A., Tasmania and Queensland will have their awards shipped,  the NSW crew will have the opportunity to pick up their award over a dinner and a chat with fellow entrants and friends. Award recipients will have their award shipped if unable to attend.
Dinner will be held at ‘Cricketers Arms Hotel’ at the rear of Blacktown drive-in cinema on Wednesday 6th May 2015 from 18:30. There is plenty of parking available.

I'm sure it will be a good night, but unfortunately I won't be able to make it.

I should have added that we do this at the Nationals because it saves on postage and the trophies don't get broken.

Are ******** or do you still have a problem with MTC or both?
As you are dumping your usual ill-informed comments let me educate you. The last two years awards were handed out at the event. In 2015 the printing machine which provided the awards was broken then not replaced until April 2015.
Having a awards night provided a chance for a few of us to get together for drinks and dinner. We do not compare or disrespect the Clubs with MTC so how about you provide the same courtesy.

    * Just to add, any person making any comments about the awards that may have been interpreted as possibly snidey (but not intended as such) with the wobbly boot on was probably me.

MTC does ask fees, but i'd hardy call it a 'business run for profit' as it gives very little return if any for B24. I prefer to see it as a damn good value for money weekend racing against a well mannered group of like minded people. It's not expensive by any means. Much cheaper than an 'exceed speed limit by a speed over 30kph' which is apparently over $800 and three months off the road. Or a speeding ticket for 45+ which is over $2200 and six months off the road. (And just to save any confusion over when the suspension begins the cops help you out there and keep your licence on the day)

Walter that last post of yours is ************* ****** *******. The event is not run by a committee and largely done by one individual, year after year with little or no support from others. The MTC event profit this year was spent on flying 2 Japanese MR2 enthusiasts well known to the community from Japan to Sydney airport, along with accommodation, food etc.

The posts other people have referred to above I have deleted in the interests of de-personalising what was happening and before things escalated further. My challenge is now to the others involved to act in a similar manner in the same context.

    Hey Steve,
Hows my award for 'Best looking guy (45-50 age group) driving a silver SW20' coming? ( I believe Dudeman beat me to the award for 'Discerning Mature Age Gentleman'?)
Next year i plan to be untouchable in the 'Regularity challenge' - I'm on a high fibre All-Bran diet, so i'll be so regular that you'll be able to set your stop watch by me lol.

We all need to tone it down guys. Nothing good will come from a discussion like this.

    Admin,
There was plenty of good coming from this thread until it was railroaded by someone who has performed the same on various other occasions. I will not be removing anything.
    Rick,
I am in your age group. You will not win that award but I will send your 2015 awards soon. Wakefield sent a few which were wrong so they needed to be redone. Certainly looking forward to having you back in 2016.
    Pat,
Thanks mate but I can not take too much credit as it was not possible without the help of Aaron, Caite, Sharon, Dave, Peter to name a few.
    Chris,
Good point on the speeding mate. I hope to see you in 2016.

Hey Steve, the category was ' in a silver sw20' , so I don't believe you qualified lol.
Seriously though, you've done a fantastic job without a lot of support. The awards are nice, but the real reward was being able to participate in such a fantastic event. Thanks again.

You all know that I hate to edit people's posts though in this case I have had to make some minor edits to B24 and Stuka's posts. I can discuss it with you guys via PM if necessary.
